Yeah, even Vaughan seems better, though the Ferrell/McAdams motel dialogue was painful.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

someone said on Facebook that they binge watched all of them up to 7 and it seemed to all make sense, that it was the serial nature that made it feel so disjointed

Just wait, in season three the first nine episodes will be entirely encrypted. In episode ten they'll give viewers the encryption key.

Sweet Baby Gorilla Jebus, I forgot that True Detective is only 8 episodes and not 10. And they wait until episode 7 to not suck? Assholes.

Yeah. It was a far cry from Rustin and Marty. 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back, too.

There were some good elements, but it never added up to a cohesive whole. To be fair season one left huge shoes to fill, but just judging this season on its own merits it was a let down considering all the talent the series had.

You nailed it. It was gritty. It was noir. But at the end of it all it was an incoherent mess. There was quite literally no *there* there.

True Detective Season Two: a nice intro, a great soundtrack (including the intro song by Leonard Cohen), an okay cast and, above all, a very, very, very nice photography. That's it.

Bring back Fukunaga, motherfuckers!

I hated the intro song for S2, but only the chorus of women singing "never mind"...if it was just Cohen it would have been fine. The soundtrack was solid

I have one episode left. The dialogue between Vince Vaughn and the kid was horrible. Just bad writing. Vaughn was completely miscast in the role.

It follows the HBO style of you have no idea of what the fuck they are talking about half the time and then it ties together in the end. Or at least I hope it does.

Not a great season.

This season was fine, you babies. Not as good as season 1, but a fine show nonetheless.

Story wasn't as hard to follow as you all are making it out to be.
