Hail, Caesar!

Post by baffled »

Not good.

Saw it in a theater that had been rented out, with an open bar, and around 40 people there for what ended up being a pretty out of control birthday celebration.

This was not a good start to the evening's festivities.

I heard it wasn't 'great'. Too much happening. Hope the Coens and Tarantino aren't on the downward slide.

It's basically a day in the life of Josh Brolin's character. It's one big crisis with a bunch of peripheral stuff and odd little story lines that branch out.

The problem, is that it's not interesting. There are a couple of points that were kind of funny/amusing, but mostly just pointless blather.

The Coens have never been my favorite, so I don't know if they're trending down, but Tarantino has sucked for a long time.

Actually... I don't think she got 10 minutes of screen time.

Kooky talk. His films are pretty stable when it comes to critical reviews since the 90's, and he's still a regular Oscar contender.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

The movie within a movie, Hail Caesar, has the same plot if that new movie out, Risen.

I expected this thread to be about Obama.
