If you peak correctly you can have a 20% drop off in the next two weeks physically, so sometimes a bit of rest is in order. Other times you can't wait to get back to work. If i am not sore or hurt and raring to go i am back in gym quickly, but scaled back. If burned out or hurting i take a week. If you take 2 or 3 going back to the gym is harder.
