Good workout today to get back in the swing of things after teaching in Holland last weekend. Was pretty wiped out from the weekend courses as well as the long flight home. Being stung twice by a Scorpion didn't help ;-) First workout since returning home. Looking forward to getting back on a roll this coming week.

Box Jumps 5x3x42 inches

Barbell Deadlift with chains (315lbs and 60lbs in chains so weight at lockout is 375lbs. Awesome exercise and really reinforces acceleration. Going to keep this one in the program for the next several weeks) 6x3

A-1: Glute-ham raise 3x6

A-2: Double KB Military Press 3x6x70lb bells

B-1: One-legged Squat 3x6 each side

B-2: Strict Pull-ups 3x6 (pull to sternum from dead hang)

Janda Sit-ups 3x8

Double KB Swing 3x10x70lb bells

Mike,

Good to see you're keeping a log on here. I know you won't remember me, but I attended one of your workshops that you held at Peak Performance NYC in 2011. Good luck with your training.

2 questions:
What advantage do you find with doing pullups to sternum? Or is it just your way of doing them?
Do you find much carryover with KB presses to BB military?
Nice work on the DL btw.

Today's workout

Barbell Deadlift 1x3x135lbs, 1x3x225lbs, 1x3x315lbs, 1x3x365lbs, 1x8x435lbs (DL feels harder than when I was on Aggressive Strength T booster and Restorezyme last month. Can't wait to get back on both next week!)

Weighted Dips 3x5x135lbs (felt pretty good)

Dragon Flags 3x5

Hammer Strength Iso Squat Machine, worked up to 595lb for 12 reps

Neutral Grip Pull-ups 3x6

Reverse Pushups 3x10

wrapped up with stretching, mobility work, and foam roller. Body feels pretty beat up this week so time to ramp up restoration. Sports massage is in order!

Hi Polo, feel stronger lat engagement on the sternum pull-ups. Don't always go that far but fairly often.

I don't find a lot of carry over honesty between KB military Press and barbell military press. The technique is quite a bit different for each move so while they look similar the better you get at one the less it carries over to the the other has been my experience.
