Game of Thrones Season Five This Weekend!

Anyone else feel this show jumped the shark this season? I thought it sucked. The nadir was last week's episode at the stake.

I'm still deep in it and love it. The season finale was great, although they tried to jam a lot into it. Another big Red Wedding type moment occurred.

The last episode was decent, the problem is there is a difference between killing and slaughtering. This season was the latter.

Not enough Peter Dinklage. Too much Winterfell. The Queen has a nice natural rack.

The real brutality in GoT is all the subplots and secondary characters who have disappeared without a trace.

Predictions:

Cersei will continue to be a vicious, spoiled-rotten bitch
Jamie will keep moping around being generally useless
Daenerys will bore us all to tears with her naive proto-social-justice-warrior pretentiousness
Orlando Bloom Snow will sit on a big ice wall and try to convince us he's genuinely conflicted
The gigantic fugly duckling and her kinda-slow assistant will spend the season in the woods looking for various folks
The Littlefinger/Sansa relationship will plumb new depths of creepiness
Arya joins the club and becomes a cliche super assassin
Bran...don't get me started on Bran. That whole story thread sucks and has sucked since Season 1.

And so on and so on. The whole thing sort of lost me last season and I only got halfway through book 4 before I had to put it away - the writing and story development was atrocious.

The entire show is carried by Tyrion at this point, esp. with the loss of Tywin and Sandor. I'll watch it for Tyrion's story and occasional shots of Melisandre's tits.

we posted a round-up of all the Game of Thrones actors who had been sighted in Belfast for the Season 6 script read-throughs. They included Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, and many more. But while there were rumors that Kit Harington had been spotted in the Game of Thrones home base in Northern Ireland, there was no proof yet. All that changed today when Watchers on the Wall, a site dedicated to all things Game of Thrones, posted photos of Harington arriving in the Belfast airport. The return of Jon Snow is turning into the worst-kept secret in TV history.

Pfft. The books lost me when people started coming back... I was like, Okay, I kinda liked those characters and was disappointed to see them go but don't bring them back as zombies, that's weak sauce! After that started happening, I stopped caring whether a character died or not.

The only character in the books I give a shit about anymore is Barristan the Bold (I hope I got the name right - it's been a year+ since I read the last book) - probably because I sympathize w. people who are old and his name starts with a B.
