Solid flick. Watched it with my cop neighbor, who pointed out that the her door kicking technique in the first sequence was bullshit.
- Wouldn't old-fashioned Texas Rangers take their Stetsons off inside a meeting room?

- Delta Force seems very ethnically diverse?

- Surely intel would suggest she's very idealistic and perhaps not suited for black ops stuff.
1. Probably not, unless there was a lady present. Then I'm surprised they didn't.
2. Just read that piece about the Blue Angels...maybe Delta Force has a similar force in play.
3. This is just wishful thinking....there is this huge mythology surrounding intel (and competency in general for spook types etc)...shit is fucked up and mushrooms grow in the dark.

With everyone else on this... couldn't stand Emily Blunt's character or that lawyering colored fellow. Benicio and Brolin were awesome. I kind of wish the plot went further or something but agree with Shape that it's good because of the way the story was told, not necessarily because of the story. I felt the exact same way about Bridge of Spies. It's like they're following an Oscar template sometimes.

Also that one line from the Delta CO...

"Keep the safety on and stay in the fucking back, don't shoot any of my guys" was great

Good flick. I almost didn't recognize the Apocalypto villain in a suit and tie.

I thought the ending was a little weak too, but I read they are working on a sequel or prequel or whatever.

In the military you don't have to remove your hat indoors if you're armed. It's probably the same for Texas Rangers.

Apparently, the Juarez tourism bureau didn't like the movie. Who could have foreseen that?
