47 year old guy. According to the host of the show he has been this lean for the last ten years.

Russia & Russians are always intriguing to me. I'd like to visit but I'm very apprehensive.

Have a friend who maintained a similar look for decades. Looked fantastic - "no drugs". Late 40s became a meth head. Then realized that he's been shooting all manner of drugs and steroids for years. Sad.

To clarify - I'm not saying Russian guy is on, but the guy I knew was on. When I was in my early 40s I managed to get really lean (around 7%) and held it for about a year, but it was not sustainable for me - I was starving the whole time and basically white knuckling my way through. Couldn't crack the code on balancing calories, exercise, and performance - I respect guys who figure it out and keep it up. I was weak as a kitten but it was the best I've ever looked.

Types like these - "dry" guys - are not that uncommon in any country. Stick-like folks who don't eat much and are constantly busy. Add an obsession with sport and you get a guy looking like this one, lean and quite muscular. He seems to be one of the "every day is arms day" guys, and I suspect his legs are like matchsticks.

I fail to see the appeal of being that lean. It's something hard to attain, almost impossible to sustain long-term and for no real purpose at all (besides a misguided sense of aesthetics). Even worse, it's not even healthy (not healthier than getting to 10%-12% bodyfat).

Describes me but I am not as ripped as that guy. Lean for sure though. That guy is a little obsessive.

Women don't really want men leaner than they are.

Um, yeah. Watch him do inverted rows on his TRX... I doubt he's ever seen a squat rack.

Too many pics in Speedos and fedoras, but I like Bass' stuff - the idea of moderation leading to superior results over a lifetime of training. His results speak for themselves. One of the original guru types in early 1980s yet seems like a completely stand up guy.

Every time Red walked in on That 70's Show all I heard was Clarence Boddiker saying "Bitches leave."
