Oh, I bet somebody saw.

People knew around here. I bet they knew around there.
Hastert wasn't caught. Rep. Gerry Studds sodomized a 17 year boy on a Congressional junket. He got censured by Congress. Studds stood reelection and won six more times.

I'm still trying to get my head around the idea that the ban on homosex in Leviticus doesn't extend to the rest of Mosaic laws on diet, lifestyle and so on. People who talk about the sin of homosexuality while eating bacon, shrimp, lobster and cheeseburgers confuse me.

I am hesitant to generalise, and probably there is a significant bias in regards to the reporting of sex crimes among the rich and powerful, as opposed to those among middle class. The summary of the reports, however, makes you wonder.

Pedophile rings are enormous and pervasive among the world's elites

Louis CK and Kevin Spacey are being erased from the public record while Bill Clinton's victims are going WTF?!
Georgina Chapman (Weinstein's wife) quickly dumped him while Hillary keeps raking in the dough with Bill.

Yeah you never hear about Bill Clinton. If only there was a cable network or radio station that provided a conservative viewpoint.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

There is before #metoo and after #metoo

I wonder how if the election wasn't the undercurrent that raised all of these bodies to the surface. It was a perfect storm of accusers and accusers.

Curious to see if it rolls back around on Trump. Wonder what Melania thinks.

The Hulk Hogan case is the one that matters. It taught news outlets that there was an profitable appetite for this type of news and that editorial standards actually matter.

The party needs to come to terms with the fact that it was so enraptured by their brilliant, Big Dog president and his stunning string of progressive accomplishments that it abandoned some of its central principles. The party was on the wrong side of history and there are consequences for that. Yet expedience is not the only reason to make this public accounting. If it is possible for politics and moral behavior to coexist, then this grave wrong needs to be acknowledged. If Weinstein and Mark Halperin and Louis C.K. and all the rest can be held accountable, so can our former president and so can his party, which so many Americans so desperately need to rise again.

I voted for impeachment back in the day, so to speak. He certainly did set the new standard for what you could get away with openly, and every liberal who supported him was an enabler. Eroding of norms, etc.

But I didn't expect the republicans to say, "If you can beat'em, join'em."

The Onion nails it today.
Roy Moore On Pedophilia Accusers: ‘These Women Are Only Discrediting Me Now Because Shifting Sociocultural Norms Have Created An Environment In Which Assault Allegations Are Taken Seriously’

MONTGOMERY, AL—Waving off the current allegations against him as vicious attempts to sabotage his election bid, Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore told reporters Monday that the women accusing him of pedophilia were only doing so now because “shifting sociocultural norms have created an environment in which assault allegations are taken seriously.” “These women have had 30 years to come forward, and the one and only reason they’re speaking out now is because they suddenly have less fear that their lives will be utterly destroyed,” said Moore, adding that the women accusing him of sexually pursuing them as teenagers were just several of many “jumping on the sexual assault bandwagon these days” in light of meaningful systemic change and the fact that society would no longer immediately discredit them. “My accusers are nothing but slandering opportunists taking advantage of the deteriorating influence of the patriarchy that has traditionally silenced any woman who makes such claims. If the American public at large had not finally begun truly hearing victims and decided that enough was enough, I guarantee that these women would never have had the audacity to accuse me of such heinous crimes.” Moore went on to say that he would nevertheless continue his run for the Senate despite the charges against him because while the norms had shifted, they had not shifted nearly as much in Alabama.

Republicans are very eager to drag the Clintons back onto center stage.

what would a reckoning for bill clinton look like?

paula jones got an $800,000 settlement, after her suit was dismissed, but still being appealed.

kathleen willey proved not-credible under oath.

it's true, though, that he didn't have to pay lewinsky's dry cleaning bill.

perhaps we need a special prosecutor to crawl up his ass with a team of investigators and spend $80 million.

The author appears to be a Democrat. Her stated motive is to hold Bill Clinton as accountable as other abusers for the good of the Democrat party.
If Weinstein and Mark Halperin and Louis C.K. and all the rest can be held accountable, so can our former president and so can his party, which so many Americans so desperately need to rise again.
The Atlantic, which is pretty liberal, thought her perspective had merit. No obvious Republicans involved in this situation.

flanagan herself is neither liberal nor feminist. more a provocatrice, according to one person.

if you check her twitter account, you'll see a number of people are critical of the piece for misrepresenting facts, like the broaddrick accusations.

the elephant in the room is the dozen-plus women who accused trump of groping and were blandly dismissed, as nafod suggested earlier. if there is a man who has not been held to account, it is the orange pox bag.

Its hardly the elephant in the room, and the pot/kettle comparison between his alleged actions and those of both Clinton is fair. In the public eye, Hillary lost her right to moral authority a long time ago-- whether it's fair or not. The reality is that most of the alleged misconduct by Bubba happened in Arkansas at a time when these women didn't have the have the access to legal assistance and the threat of losing good jobs and income was very real (state jobs pay a hell of a lot more and have better benefits than most jobs)-- there may be a lot of victims that just shut up and deal with the consequences (similar to how girls had to shut up and be silent regarding allegations against Roy Moore for all these years). The Clintons and Moore have reputations for using the legal system effectively to their advantage and for playing hardball.

The lawsuits from the women claiming sexual harassment and sexual assault from Trump are proceeding at the pace we've come to expect in cases like this where the accused is wealthy and powerful. If anything the cases gained more credibility from the recent exposures of Hollywood pervs. My guess is that, given the hatred of Trump out there, that they're getting excellent legal representation pro bono. We may never really know what happened anyway-- the settlements, if there are any, will probably be hidden behind ironclad NDAs.

Question for Republicans: If you believe the women now, why didn’t you believe the women then?

Specifically, if you believe the women accusing Roy Moore, the Republican Senate candidate in Alabama, why did you ignore the women who accused presidential candidate Donald Trump? If you’re troubled by Moore’s alleged behavior, why were you so nonchalant about Trump’s?

I’m waiting.

Ugh, I don't want to be caught defending the Orange Clown. But Moore targeted teenagers, and Trump moved on adult women. I can see being more nonchalant about the one than the other.

I mean, ignoring the Miss America allegations and the underage one from the 90s.

Harvey Weinstein showed up in a not-so-effective disguise at a Phoenix restaurant Thursday night, because everyone in the joint made him.

Weinstein was wearing a blond wig, orange makeup
and a baseball cap when he showed up with a male companion at Chestnut restaurant. We're told he asked for a private room ... problem was, the room was all glass so people in the restaurant could see him.

Waiting for nafod to make the trump allusion, because he always makes the trump allusion, except when he directly points to trump (which is most of the time).
