2019.02.12PM; Kanewai Run x 2 mi., cooled down with another mile walking, then did 3 x 40 yd. hill sprints.

I want to start incorporating more hill sprinting, but I need to ease into it. While I do a fair amount of running, all of it is at a moderate pace.

I have read that 20 x 40 yds. once or twice a week is a basic, but solid, way to incorporate hill sprints into a program, and the road I live on is ideal for the purpose.

...finished up with a mountain run. Instead of doing my normal longer run, I took the steepest 1-mile section and ran it twice full out. Second round was a gut check. Finished by walking a couple of extra miles and then cooked my family a beautiful French dinner.

Now that I have begun incorporating variable speeds including sprints, my pace over longer distances has improved as well.

Thanks, Bram! Honestly, my training right now has me stoked. I am getting stronger, gaining muscle, getting leaner, and running better.

I do feel a weird sense of guilt about not wanting to train BJJ much these days, but I'm really enjoying what I do for the first time in a long time, and I look and feel better.

Sounds good to me, haha I haven't trained BJJ in 9 years or so and don't feel much guilt.

I think trusting that you enjoy something is a good recipe for happiness, glad you're in a groove!
