Re the snatch, can recommend the A+A strongfirst approach - not for the supposed magical cardio benefits - purely for the fact that 5 reps on the minute for 20 minutes is a very easy way to get 100 reps in without breaking a sweat, and after a few weeks of doing that a couple of times a week, the bell feels a lot lighter and you’d probably be close to knocking off the 100 reps goal pretty quickly. I might have to try that again soon.
I've found this to be a good way to get back into snatching. Good rep count while staying fresh.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I would caution against being too enthusiastic with A+A snatches. Snatching without fatigue for 20 minutes allows you to accumulate significant volume and corresponding benefits. The flip side of this is that negative effects accumulate just as well and you can get injured fairly quickly. That's the story of my latest shoulder injury. Mind you, the tipping factor was probably BJJ session the day after the A+A snatch workout, but I would still recommend caution.

My advice - start low volume and build gradually. Waving the load or using random loads may also be a good idea. Refer to Strong First forum for the best dice recommendations.

I have to admit, with great shame, that I started S&S (-ish) workouts to supplement my BJJ. I don't like TGUs and my workout consists of one arm swings, one arm KB presses and double KB front squat.

The goal is to get to at least 24 kg for 100 swings and press 28 kg with one arm for 10 reps (still nursing right shoulder injury).

Jump rope and Megareps pushups is another thing I am doing, but with no real goals.

I hate TGUs too - my version of an S&S workout is 10x10 one arm swings and 3 x 2,3,5 kb presses per side, and a few goblet squats and pull-ups before or after.

I also hate myself for liking more Strongfirst workouts but I recently found alternating days of the A+A snatches with days of the ‘Strength Aerobics’ workout - 1 clean, 1 press, 1 front squat, put it down and rest, then repeat on the other side - going one side every 30 seconds for 20 minutes

While I’m at it I also did a non SF workout yesterday that I saw on here from years ago:

10 swings, 5 snatch, 5 clean and press, switch hands and repeat, then rest a minute and go again

Did 5 rounds with a 20kg after some other work and was done.

What would a rucking PR look like?

For me it would be completing a long walk without having to take a shit in someone's yard.

I resent the implication that I, as a clean athlete, would resort to PEDs.

Watch out for Russian "doctors" they have a bad reputation in the sporting community.

My goals for 2020:
*train more often than not
*kb snatch 16kg x 1hour
*kb snatch 24kg x 30 minutes
*squat bdwt on bar x age
*consistently weigh < 185lb
*axle dl 225lb x 10
*push-ups at least 1x/week (>52x)
*stretch at least 2x/week (>104x)
*one arm dl 200lb+ w. 2" v-bar
*squat 135lb x 200

So far, I did the hour of 16kg kettlebell snatches, and squat 135lb x 200. Training more days than not is (knock on wood, unless I get sick or horribly injured) almost a surety.

The deadlifts, stretching, and lowering bodyweight consistently (I'm at 190-195 right now) are going to be the more difficult goals for me.

I think all of us are just really hoping we and the people we love stay healthy. Scary.

Snatching a 24 kg bell for 30 minutes is mental brah. I'm impressed, Bobo.

Finally settled on my Prime Directive for 2020: return to/stay at <11.0% body fat. Nothing that doesn't serve that.

Well I managed to get below 150 by February 16th for a lightweight competition. Staying there has been hard, back up to 156. All my competitions/vacations have been cancelled and things are a bit stressful here. My knees have been giving me a lot of trouble as well (my dog pulls a lot on walks and this seems to exacerbate it more than anything). So, doing a challenge with my coach starting tomorrow. I'm just going to do easy cardio every day and some light weight/bodyweight workout circuits for about 45 minutes 4-5 x's per week. My kids are out of school and will train/walk/bike with me so this might just work. So, goal is still the same, get down to or below 150 and maintain it for the rest of the year.
