Okay. Fuck the “errors here” thread.
This new forum fucking sucks. I tried to post a review of a product. Couldn’t do it. Awaited moderation. Then I posted it in the training forum. Duplicate post not accepted. Then I created a new thread in the Free Speech and edited my response to include the review. It disappeared.
1 in 3 things I post never post. Half the time I click a thread it gets an error.
Admin doesn’t respond to jack shit.
Is this really as good as forums get in 2021?
I deeply appreciate Mario’s efforts to find us a new home and to set it up. However, it’s objectively terrible in execution. The format is poorly conceived and actually limits the ease of communication in comparison with the old board, and it’s incredibly unstable. I get an error with every third or fourth click.

So, if you use the “link” feature (chain symbol) your post is rejected. If you simply put the link in the message body, it comes up as a link, albeit without the option of an alternate title (I haven’t tried posting directly with markup, so who knows?). Oddly enough, the board software, which rejects a user-identified link, identifies the pasted URL and makes it clickable.
I think I have only experienced an error once or twice, which was immediately corrected with a refresh.
I’m running Ubuntu Linux and Firefox. Perhaps posting your OS and browser would add useful information if anyone wants to address the issues.

Yeah. That seems to a potential solution. All of my posts that have been rejected for moderation I used the link feature. When I reworked the last post and used no links, all was well.
When I used a link in the response I didn’t use the link feature, I just typed it in and all was well.
Look, I’m not trying to slag on admin, but fucking monkey shit. If you’re going to run this shit, run it. If you are not or do not have the time or you caught the delta and died , igx up and let us know.
Have a suggestion. Removing the upvote/downvote button should allow for the text of our posts to be more visually appealing. Right now, it shoves the initial part of each post over to the side, and looks ugly. And the upvote/downvote feature is barely used anyways. Thanks!

I don’t mind paying to get the forum back to its original version. Or whatever forum version that will look nice and will work without irritating issue. In its current version it sucks. It is not visually appealing (too narrow, avatars too small), logging in takes time, it keeps throwing you out, sending a pm is not intuitive, formatting doesn’t work. I understand Mario has full time job, so it would be just fair to pay him.
