If you're interested in longbows, I strongly recommend "Agincourt" by Bernard Cornwell. It's historical fiction, and there's some fluff, but the descriptions of the longbow and how devastating they were is great reading. Bernard Cornwell in general is great for historical fiction.

If you're interested in longbows, I strongly recommend "Agincourt" by Bernard Cornwell. It's historical fiction, and there's some fluff, but the descriptions of the longbow and how devastating they were is great reading. Bernard Cornwell in general is great for historical fiction.

Awesome fucking book. It's going to be a film, done by the guy who does Vikings, but with big budget.

I read them all, and the boy's will have it on their reading list in their teens.

Guilty pleasure: I'm reading all the John Sanford "Prey" novels along with the Virgil Flowers books. Right now I'm reading Silent Prey.

And, because I'm working on some stories that include this subject (and because I find this stuff fascinating) I'm reading Last Ape Standing by Chip Walter:

Western wryters who writes about Rome have one problem in common.
They feeling necessary to describe their sexual fantasies. It is little disturbing to read for me. Our literature more puritanic :))

For example passage from "Skystone"

Agreed. I love Cornwell's work.

Also another great one if you are interested in longbow work is Hunting the Hard Way.
