Pro Tip: If you need to wear a t-shirt that says "ATHLETE" maybe you should zero carb long enough to lose the bingo wings and thunder thighs.

Yeah, yeah, "you need a certain bodyfat percentage for optimal performance yodda yodda," but you're about double that right now, honey.

He just makes this shit up off the top of his head, knowing full well that the true believers will credit anything he says with sagacious wisdom, even if it makes absolutely no fucking sense whatsoever. Rather than admit that they have no fucking idea what he's talking about they'll just smile and nod, stroking their chins and going "Hmm, yes, worldwide accreditation!"

Hey, I listened to that @ssfit radio broadcast, well the first 6 seconds.

What is with the "The views and opinions expressed on crossfit radio are not necessarily those of Crossfit HQ of it's founders"?

When it is clearly a production of crossfit.com and you email them at crossfit.com etc.?

Is that something you just always say when you have guests on and you want to create the appearance of an unfiltered message?

Maybe it's just more CYA legal jargon?

Cross posted quote from the Adam Glass thread in the kookball forum:
#4 Crossfit: Changing a movement without a good reason

My biggest problem with Crossfit- changing a movement to be different and finding excuses to back it up. The overhead swing is dumb. I have fixed far too many CFers who came to me pretty jacked up from doing it- I don’t get it. Want to put the KB overhead? Snatch it. What to move it to get you out of breath? Swing it to chest level quickly, or clean and jerk it for reps. Still easy? Go find a heavier bell. Overhead swings are harming service members who are stuck doing cultfit because stupid captains/junior officers/junior NCOs make them do it for unit PT. Since my record for fixing people vs. breaking them with training is 100% win/0% fail- I feel qualified to say overhead swings started by a quad dominated lumbar flexion snaps fuck you up.

And what about the biggest white elephant of them all? Your beloved couch. Have you looked at this guy lately? Is this really the kind of person you want to be taking any advice from let alone fitness and dietary advice? Put a bowl of hot soup in front of the guy and you have a billboard for the Salvation Army. Aren’t the gin blossoms, the bloated face and the distended stomach an indicator to you that this guy doesn’t know what the **** he’s talking about? He’s an overbearing ass that scribbles **** on white board with no credentials other than some dubious claims about being a gymnastic. He’s got you hoodwinked.

That was perhaps the all-around most correct thread I've seen on @Fit other than this one. No faggots chiming in with testimonials of how awesomely gay Couch has made them.

You are not allowed to question the methodology of the workouts, any daily workout that is posted or anything about the program. You are certainly never allowed to question "coach" or any of his sycophants. You are expected to wallow in his reflected glory and agree with all his political opinions. Furthermore, you are required to drink the Kool Aid and join in on the bashing of the hapless individuals who have dared to question "coach". Finally, you have to agree that he is a saint for giving his workouts "free" to the world. That is a whole nother issue that I'm not going to get into
Of course the deplorable behavior of the moderators revealed in these documents only validates what I have contended for years about the Crossfit forums. Crossfit only exist so Gregg Glassman can make money. Any other bull**** about community, devotion to the military or elite fitness is strictly tertiary at best. Just scroll through some of the comments to see what the moderators really think about rank and file Crossfitters. They disdain them. Lynne Pitts is the most contemptuous one of the whole lot. As one reads through her bile one can almost see her salivate at the prospect of banning another dolt who failed to tow the party line. This women is bitterness personified. She should take up residence under some bridge where she threatens to devour small goats for trespassing. I mean really Lynne. Get a ****ing life already.

This should be a reality slap for all you Crossfitters reading this. Crossfit doesn’t care about you and doesn’t have your best interest at heart. How many white elephants must you stumble over before you wake up a realize this is a bogus program that is little more than a bastardized version of Mike Mentzer’s HIT programs. Drug addicts and narcissists with eating disorders constitute the ranks and file among the trainers. The injury board is a testimony of what Crossfit will really do for you. Is this really what you want from you fitness program?
If you think I’m making this up I have a challenge for you. Bring up any of these allegations over at the Crossfit forum and she how long it is before your thread gets locked or deleted. Push it a bit further and you’ll soon be among the real elite. You’ll be among the banned, the Ronin of the online fitness world. But **** it. You’ll soon find that you make greater gains without those *******s
And the subject ends as quickly as it begins....

I noticed the mention of Ross E's site and books in that thread and it's funny in that I was reading over Full Throttle Conditioning just this morning and will be going back over NG and II shortly as well. Ross and his material is hugely underrated imo. Hugely. His books are outstanding. He gives the scientifical data to back up his exercises and programming, explains it clearly and provides excellent programs and routines. He walks the walk as well and is very humble. Which may be one reason why he isn't a bigger name than he is. But those in the know know.

thisness.

if you were crossfit curious fucktard but ran across Ross first, you could pretty much plug and play. Even a total newb that would execute the stuff Ross lays out for a year, could skip the 4 or 5 years of fucking off that most of us need to learn the difference between shit and shinola.

Hey jerk-off with all your reading and experience and discipline and common-man voice, why don't you try writing some basic fitness ebook. Simple programming and progressions for the normally heighted non-immortals.

Fuck the data and what-not. Might be a interesting exercise for you. Consolidate all your knowledges.

IOW, with all due respect to Ross, why should I listen to him and not you?

Hmmm...this is something to think on. :-k Although, I don't know anymore, actually a lot less, than others here on this forum and am no different than anyone else who keeps a training log here.

I have thought in the past about posting "my philosophy" on training, progression, etc. on the training forum.

EDIT: You should listen to Ross because he is a common-man badass and knows what the hell he is talking about and doing. He trains people, I don't. Not yet, anyway.

EDIT EDIT: Also, Bryce Lane has already done this.

Didn't Bryce Lane get sort of mixed up in the whole @fit universe? If I recall, there were threads dedicated to his training on their forums a few years back.
