These detractors say that if this claim is true, where are these elite athletes? I think the naysayers have confused champion athletes with elite athletes. That’s okay. They just don’t understand the program, either because they have their own agenda within the fitness industry, or they fear the type of hard and intense training we do.

Rather than give CrossFit a try, or at least make an attempt to understand the science behind the training and the true benefits of it, the detractors continue to bash. Perhaps, as I suspect, they’re concerned that CrossFit is producing exactly what it claims: elite athletes.

This isn’t to say that CrossFitters can’t become champions, or that champions aren’t made through CrossFit training. The point is that CrossFitters are elite because of the way they train for the unknown and unknowable rather than for a specific event.

Elite is defined as being in a class by oneself, the select few, the cream of the crop, the best. If that’s the definition of elite, then the category of elite athletes should encompass all CrossFitters.

Funny enough that there is even a thread about a 765# squat on a @Fit board, but it is nice to see that Chris Mason is making friends so easily.

You know, upon reflection I find it interesting that people are so adamant about their opinions when they have no experience to base them upon. In other words, how many of you have seen a youngster trained with Westside principles right from the get-go? I doubt any of you. I have personally seen it done and with spectacular results. I therefore KNOW it works. Mine is not an opinion, rather a statement of fact.

They're also starting up their own race series. I do hope that a few non-@FE people show up to win in those events. Kind of like how people want someone who isn't apart of @F winning the @FGaymes.

That's hilarious. Another $1000 per year to add "Endurance" to the end of the affiliate name, and a "race series" to further show the goalpost-moving of @F.

I bet the @FE races will cost 5x as much as the standard ones do, just like @Fers willingly being raped of their $$ to watch their non-sport regionals.
