At a gym somewhere in California, Robb Wolf and Greg Everett are laughing their asses off and everyone around them is wondering why.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:Sometimes you say the sweetest things.

So at the x-fit home page, the certs aren't selling out as much.
Also, you can't sell what you don't own.
If anyone from a large company is interested in getting involved, the divorce and all the wonderful depositions is going to scare them off.

You don't even have to actually know how to run a business to know how this will play out. Anybody who's watched half a season of Dragon's Den knows that even if they swung for the fences in their sales pitch, they'd get eaten alive in due dilly.Gary John wrote:So at the x-fit home page, the certs aren't selling out as much.

I'm putting my marker on my private placement call. Who's with me?
Re: The couch thread
The main asset is the name, the goodwill. As unorganized as they seem at times, they really do seem to run a "tight" ship when it comes to logistics, marketing, and, we would have to assume, accounting. Five years in the bunker really would look good on a CV. They're marketing geniuses. The real question is whether HQ can monetize the community they built before they collapse. They've been doing a pretty good job of it so far. And before the community collapses - their business model has, to this point, been to churn through people, but it's going to come back to haunt them eventually. But, good grief, that's what this thread has been saying for years and it hasn't happened yet.WildGorillaMan wrote:What are the assets? What do they actually own?
The company is run like a members-only tree fort, not a business. What do the books look like? Do they even keep books?
This is getting really, really good.
After the dust settles, the Community will go on. HQ, not so much.
If you spent five years in the bunker, how would you spin that on your CV when the time comes to hit the bricks?
I think there might be a mildly interesting novel or film in this as long as we never have to think about people exercising.

It takes a long time for a fissure to grow in a glacier. You can watch it happen, and although for most of the time there doesn't seem to be much going on, one day it just CRACKS.tzg wrote:But, good grief, that's what this thread has been saying for years and it hasn't happened yet.

Right, but in that time, exponentially increasing revenue. Not many businesses grow like that. Especially not through that economy.WildGorillaMan wrote:It takes a long time for a fissure to grow in a glacier. Or the amount of work and money to developed franchise systems manuals, training courses, and getting franchise approval in each state and having systems and handbooks that abided by each states laws.protobuilder wrote:Don't forget to factor in the franchise taxes, heretofore dodged.
Then the question comes up about about standardized training protocols. WIth any franchise there is an expectation of a like experience non-dependent of location, you won't be able to put your own spin on the training. A Big-Mac is a Big-Mac, no matter where you buy it. Will this lead to mass exodus when people are told "this IS what @fit is now".
We are looking into buying into a franchise, and there was a lot more little things than we thought.

Hookers and blow. Same ol', same ol'. Yeah, there will be a crash, and it will be glorious, but they had a few great years here and if they can cash out, they'll be riding high.WildGorillaMan wrote:Revenue, great, but what's the net? Couch is a little too chubby to be a cokehead. I always figured him for a fan of the downers, you know, to dull the pain that comes part and parcel with "elite" training...Freki wrote:Up couch's nose?Shafpocalypse Now wrote:Sometimes you say the sweetest things.

Why not Brittney Spears as Barky and Katy Perry as Shari-baby. Make it a musical, with an appearance by J. Lo as Lugo.protobuilder wrote:Barky as Barky.tzg wrote:Katy Perry as Barky?
