Re: The couch thread
The Crossfit/USAW "Weightlifting" Open ran their first day today, score sheets are out here. Not recognizing many USAW lifters, seems like mostly Crossfitters. Also noticed on their score sheets that the "total" is a combination of the weightlifting total plus the number of reps done in the Crossfit metcon (# of rounds you can do in 10 minutes of 6 55kg squat cleans, 12 pull-ups, and 24 double-unders). Which means that apparently adding an extra kilo to your snatch or C&J is the equivalent of doing an extra double-under. Interesting interpretation there.
The original announcement here says the score would be based on the number of rounds, not reps . . . Wonder why they changed it?

Re: The couch thread
They never really changed it, and the goal was to game the scoring so that only @Fers would likely be able to win. This was tested by ELEEEET @Fers before the meet so that the metcon would account for approximately the same number of points as the total.

Correct. If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.Quack Attack wrote:They never really changed it, and the goal was to game the scoring so that only @Fers would likely be able to win. What is up with boy Tyler did someone steal his idea for the agility ladder now?

It's believed that Tyler has been trolling the board to try and figure out who is posting at IGX and then running to Couch with the info.Anon wrote:What is up with boy Tyler did someone steal his idea for the agility ladder now?

Way to reinforce the opinion that crossfitters are whiny cunts Tyler. Couch should just have his wife whacked. Save him a fortune. It's believed that Tyler has been trolling the board to try and figure out who is posting at IGX and then running to Couch with the info

Isn't Tyler the douche that didn't know how high a meter was and started jumping out of 10 foot trees with his tennis buddies after Andy told him it was 10 feet?

That kind of tattle-tailing actually goes on? Wow! Must be nice, to have that kind of business model, lots of free time... It's as if some of them never mentally developed past the fourth grade, and they're running it like an eleet fucking lemonade stand. I'm still stuck on my Members-Only Tree Fort analogy. If there was a deal in the works, and the accountants and analysts showed up at HQ for their due dilligence, I'm honestly curious about what they'd find.ArtimusPiledriver wrote:It's as if some of them never mentally developed past the fourth grade, and they're running it like an eleet fucking lemonade stand.

It's a good analogy. They probably even have a secret knock to get in the door. A real "Outsider's Inner-Circle" if you will.WildGorillaMan wrote:I'm still stuck on my Members-Only Tree Fort analogy. Did I ever tell you about the time when I worked as a lab tech at a prestigious art college? I observed the students forming factions, little eliteist groups of hipster who'd look down their noses at the other students. I remember once saying to a friend of mine "I have no idea where this elitism comes from, because God knows, they were all picked last for dodgeball growing up."
Same thing, here. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Set up a group that "empowers" people, gives them the impression that, by being involved and participating, they become elite, you're gonna need a way to insulate yourself. An allegorical "tree fort" as you call it, built entirely out of insecurity and suspicion and where god-only-knows-what goes on.
The sky is probably the limit. I can't wait to read about it...

I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.

Much like the spindly leg faggots wearing the "Shut up and squat" shirt while doing 1/4 squats in the smith machine.
