It seems that RM@X and @fit are competing for the title of Stupidest Internet Fitness Cult, I bet that it comes down to a photo finish.

One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.
There are a bazillion FREE workouts on DD & Pavel's blog. Too many, for those with ADD.TomFurman wrote:"Why would take RKC when Crossfit gives you FREE workouts?"
An apples to apples comparison is the RKC v. the Crossfit trainng
certification. Each costs a small bucket of $$$.

This far surpasses your elevator beatdown of that crippled thirteen year old.
That's some harsh shit. I only thought Bill had put a beat down on a mongaloid kid, I had no idea the kid was crippled too.

Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.

My HS Football Coach Brother told me some Boosters, a husband and wife, who happen to be @fit cult members want to train the football team.
Very effective answer was to offer to see how far they could push the blocking sled, race the team in 40s, and do their football conditioning. They didn't do so well, but they looked marvelous.
The goal must be remembered that we are here to stop the couch from doing any more damage to people who are not weak minded, bodyfat obsessive, self flaggellating, and wanting daddy's love.

I bet @fit prepared her well. Probably just walked a little sore the next day, but all in all was aright.
In a very low dragon stance I pushed him just outside the elevator and in one swift motion put on the wheel brake. He was forced to watch in vain as the elevator door slowly closed and I calmy blended into the crowd on the casino floor.Marc wrote:Was it the flying triangle or armaber you destroyed him with?bill fox wrote:He was the special olympics Tae Kwon Do heavy weight champ, and deceptively fast in that chair. Football isn't a very good candidate for xf-style training. Of course, since XF encompasses everything from kettlebells to deadlifts to gymnastics, you can pretty much just have an open ticket to say it works for whatever sport you want.
My definition is that the WOD is basically XF. If the WOD doesn't fit the sport, and you have to modifiy it significantly to do so, then it's not XF anymore.
But that's just me.
DeFranco does a very good job with his football guys. Look to those successful at the task, not to those who haven't proven themselves yet but whom insist they can.

Oh yeah. I understand that.
At the HS level, though, there's a lot of stuff you can do between 9th and 12th grades to make them better athletes, and also to help them avoid those oh-so prevalent "high school football" injuries. I think proper S&C makes a bigger difference the lower you go down the ladder. With the proper development, I think you could take a mediocre high school freshman and have him play Div III or Div II ball.
The first step is not being stupid about it. You'd think that'd be easy, but it isn't.

Your point is well taken on S&C, but not sure I agree with you on making a college player out of a mediocre freshman.Shaf wrote:Oh yeah. I understand that.

At the H.S. level, football skills and SPEED are King. Our local H.S. has a great feeder program from Rinks, Ponies. Jr. HS on up, and have been district champs and state semi's qualifiers several times. We've beaten bigger and stronger teams regularly. Cases in point, we beat Jon Witman's(Steeler) huge team and Ricky Watter's team two diff. years we were district champs. Ricky had the speed and Jon the strength, but overall our f.b. skills and overall team speed won out. Good football at the H.S. level is probably my favorite sport.
