WTF! G.W. Bush vindicated.....

Post by Yes, I'm drunk »

.....at last!

It can't be denied, the War On Terror worked. Where does that leave all the self-righteous lefties now?

Some funny stuff in this report: Al-Qaida memo to Bin Laden warns of 'cunning methods' of US news networks

This made me ROFL:
A US-born al-Qaida spokesman, Adam Gadahn, wrote back to Bin Laden laying the merits or otherwise of using US news stations to mark the "Manhattan battle" as it is referred to in the memo.

Fox News is dismissed because it "falls into the abyss as you know, and lacks neutrality too".

"I used to think that MSNBC channel may be good and neutral a bit, but is has lately fired two of the most famous journalists – Keith Olbermann and Octavia Nasser the Lebanese," wrote Gadahn.
I guess MSNBC realised that when even al-Qaida can tolerate Olbermann as the acceptable face of the Great Satan you know you've got to do something about it.

Bin Laden became so worried about the US persuing him that he suggested using global warming as a tool of distraction on the sheeple:
But he [Osama] also wondered if it would be good to work with an American channel, suggesting CBS as "close to being unbiased". Bin Laden added that the organisation should approach a British journalist, Robert Fisk of the Independent, and other reporters to press home the message that the major powers would be better concentrating on climate change than pursuing al-Qaida.
Hmmm :-k . Climate change as a smoke-screen? Where've we heard that one before.....?

George W. Bush tried and hung Saddam Hussein and freed the Iraqi people. Was that so wrong?
Obama's narcissism and arrogance is only superseded by his naivete and stupidity.

Yes. Saddam should have been given maximum 20 years in a country club prison where he'd live better than 95% of his country's citizens.

He was denied the chance to rehabilitate. Very sad choice of values on the part of teh USA and Iraq.

I know you're only joking, but don't underestimate the stupidity or connivance of the liberal-left.

I remember there was a socialist black woman MP in Britain - her names's Diana Abbott, FWIW - who seriously suggested that he, Saddam, be forced into exile onto somewhere like Saint Helena or Elba, just "like Napoleon was", and that he be given access to some of his bank accounts while he was there. Fucking unbelievable.

It's "Diane", numpty. You really are a ball-licking wannabe Yankee gun toter, aren't you. "The connivance of the liberal left". Drink some tea and get rid of your hard on.

Hess spent his natural life in Spandau. In virtual anonymity. Something similar for Hussein would not have been inappropriate. The US did inflate his bubble of ego and power so perhaps they owed it to him to give him some sort of plea bargain that kept him alive. But no. Hang him and fuck him. No WMDs? We don't give a shit. Let's just watch as he's strung up. He eh, torture people. After he was useful to us fighting a proxy war. So fuck him. Yeah!!

As I mature I realise that a lot of the stuff I thought the US had got wrong they'd actually got right.

Anyway, stop with your imperialist nonsense! It was the Iraqi people and the proper functioning of their fledgling legal institutions that put Saddam on trial and who oversaw the process that led to his eventual death by lawfully mandated capital punishment. And rightly so. You're simply being arrogant to think that the Allied forces could have given "him some sort of plea bargain that kept him alive". It wasn't theirs to give, it was up to the Iraqis. Really, the "connivance of the liberal left" knows no shame.....

"Fledgling legal institutions". You used to be a roaring liberal. Didn't you, YID. What turned you? Did they give you a company car? What was it? A Mondeo?

No, I was never a liberal. I was an anarcho-nihilist, pseudo-Trotskyite, aspiring member of the now defunct Situationist International movement.

Liberalism's far too vanilla a mast to pin one's flag to.....

You were part of Situationist International? You're not Kevin - he's in a home. I doubt you're Shahid or Mandy. So you must be Brian. Wow man! It's been years! It's me! Steve!

If I ever really believed that, then I certainly do not now. Servicemen and women do a tough job with little in the way of real appreciation. As usual, the poet says it best.....

Tommy by Rudyard Kipling

I went into a public-'ouse to get a pint o'beer,
The publican 'e up an' sez, "We serve no red-coats here."
The girls be'ind the bar they laughed an' giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again an' to myself sez I:

O it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, go away";
But it's ``Thank you, Mister Atkins,'' when the band begins to play,
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it's ``Thank you, Mr. Atkins,'' when the band begins to play.

I went into a theatre as sober as could be,
They gave a drunk civilian room, but 'adn't none for me;
They sent me to the gallery or round the music-'alls,
But when it comes to fightin', Lord! they'll shove me in the stalls!

For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, wait outside";
But it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide,
The troopship's on the tide, my boys, the troopship's on the tide,
O it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide.

Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap;
An' hustlin' drunken soldiers when they're goin' large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin' in full kit.

Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy how's yer soul?"
But it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll,
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll.

We aren't no thin red 'eroes, nor we aren't no blackguards too,
But single men in barricks, most remarkable like you;
An' if sometimes our conduck isn't all your fancy paints:
Why, single men in barricks don't grow into plaster saints;

While it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, fall be'ind,"
But it's "Please to walk in front, sir," when there's trouble in the wind,
There's trouble in the wind, my boys, there's trouble in the wind,
O it's "Please to walk in front, sir," when there's trouble in the wind.

You talk o' better food for us, an' schools, an' fires an' all:
We'll wait for extry rations if you treat us rational.
Don't mess about the cook-room slops, but prove it to our face
The Widow's Uniform is not the soldier-man's disgrace.

For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country," when the guns begin to shoot;
An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
But Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool - you bet that Tommy sees!
