There's a bit of a difference. It's subtle. But, overall, you're correct about the base still being very similar.

There's even more difference now Glassman's attempting to co-opt Rippetoe and Kilgore and attempting to put a bandaid over the hemorraging artery of the maximal strength part of XF.

10 guests logged on and seems like at least 10 hits / minute. Completely doable.

It's obviously we will get there.

The question is, who wins the IGx Bouche Dag of the Year Award?

Is it the Couch?
Is it Friedo?

Let's have a few nominees. Put it to a vote, will of the people and all that good shit.

Dilrod is an ass hat, but he's not to the level of Friedo or Couch.

Not Freido; for all his Internet-Cop-ery, he's basically well-meaning and harmless...at least based on what I see on the DD forum. And let's not forget that, in the words of Garm himself, "...he may be a bitch, but he's a bitch who actually competes...".

Couch may or may not be a douchebag, but I don't ever visitt x-fit, so I can't vote for him based on pure hearsay.

I nominate Mac...not because he called me a "pussy', and not for implying that I appeared in "lemonparty.org", but for actually posting the link. I'm not sure how, but I think looking at that site made me sterile.

I second that. My mind was permanently damaged for opening that link. Macacawicz sucks.

Um, besides the left/right black/white thing, the obvious reason that Gorshin's character wanted to annihilate the other guy's race was because their dancebelts are never padded enough to completely hide their "areas".

Ewwwww...

It's kind of like the MD Telethon. Will they make their goal? Will Jerry Lewis blow a heart gasket on live TV? (One can only hope) I pulled out my CF versus GJ trump card to lift it over the top.

Grandpa's Spells wrote:The topic on Dr. Squat was specifically Oly lifters beating sprinters in a 10 meter dash. The first sentence of the post indicates that's what he's talking about. There were a dozen threads on DD about it.

Everybody who believes it says it happened in '68 in Mexico, including, according to Makena, Tommy Kono, an alleged witness.

Tyler sez Kono doesn't remember it:
http://forum.dragondoor.com/training/message/317215%5C

We sure have come a long way from the original topic...but I'd like to mention that having a bunch of Oly lifters post respectable sprint times /beat sprinters (or vertical jump distances) ONCE, pretty much doesn't prove anything at all...even if it did happen. They could have just been a bunch of athletic young men who happened to be good at sprinting (ie, genetically gifted) in the first place. The sprinters they were supposedly competing against may have been loafing, burned out, not taking the event seriously, or saving themselves for "real" heats coming up that day.

Or most of the Oly guys could have had Track and Field backgrounds before they got into Oly lifting . (People cross trained sports all the time back then...things were not nearly so specialized) so they already had the technical skills. The assertion means nothing, based on the background most of us are given about the feat.

I'm not saying that Oly lifters aren't tremendous athletes...I'm just saying that good Oly lifts <> good sprint times.

Congratulations to everyone for making this the weirdest Internet meme-virus in the history of IGx.

I thought Moses was supposed to die before he ever reached the Promised Land.

Are you still with us, Foxy? Or does that angel emoticon mean the soul's left the six-pack?
