The original CrossFit gym in Santa Cruz, CA is officially closed. The remaining original trainers along with newer ones from along the way are now set up in three different locations: CrossFit Santa Cruz Central, Crossfit North Santa Cruz, and, CrossFit Santa Cruz.

A lot of good memories in that little box, and it's sad to see it go. All the best to everyone and their new ventures.

Robb, Dave and Nick up at what used to be crossfit north were the first affillliates. Robb's a smart cookie who conducts himself like a gentleman in all things interweb. Dave and Nick are decent level headed people in person.

This is what I know.

Out of the Santa Cruz gym, only the Glassman's and that Brandon guy made money. So, after Glassman hightailed it to AZ, it lost a shitload of momentum.

Then even more when Brandon took his toys to a new location.

Other folks wanted to do their own thing and capture money in bigger ways, not as a trainer.

Sounds true. I heard these rumblings back in 2005 as I sat at lunch across from the GWF and the guy who now runs an affiliate in Washington (last name Street?). There's loads of jealousy and in-fighting between the original intelligentsia.

As said above, Robb Wolfe is not among them. Solid guy, stays above the fray.

I have been starting over - and I don't forget the beginning - I treasure where I came from. My years of drug abuse, abandonment, the death of my first love, growing up with my childrens father and the 13 years I spent with him....they all made me who I amtoday. I am learning to be a better person. I bring my pain and problems that I had in my marriage with me into my relationship with B if I don't correct them and change them. I have been working on this like crazy. I realize where I went wrong. You can't go back - only forward. Moving forward is healing. I can FEEL my life. Horrible fucking vid.

The muscle ups I can respect since I suck at them but what kind of fucking overhead swing was that? That's almost as bad as the chick the other day doing the bent armed swings. Not to mention her kipping handstand push ups. I find myself thinking the whole timed workout idea is being overused and the over all quality of the workouts are suffering for the sake of ego.

And the god awful amateur porno cameraman voice over was just fucking disturbing.

I used to go to X-fit for workout ideas and now all I get is hate filled bile boiling up into my throat.

The American Swing (tm) is a garbage move, like many other of the specialized XF movements (sumo dl high pulls come to mind, thrusters to a lesser extent)
