I love how all of these enlisted personell (assuming they're truly active duty) speak to an officer. Even the communication from Lt. Col Dan & Spider Chick, both of which are outranked by a Navy Captain, are borderline in my opinion. I think it would be different outside of internet land...

I thought that odd too, RPC. Awfully fucking chipper to a superior officer.
That Navy guy didn't seem in bad shape either from his pic.

Stupidest posts in that comments section is where someone figures you have such a better chance of survival in combat if you do x-fit. Those here who actually have been in it, know what total bullshit that is.

Spiderchick is seriously fucking delusional.
I'm glad the psychos are training @ssfit instead of actually lifting weights and getting huge.
That's just that few less psycho meatheads strolling around in the world today.
I'd much rather have to worry about tangling with a chemically imbalanced, 165# androgynous male, with a sub 4' Fran than a 250# mongo looking motherfucker that overhead presses more than I weigh.

If it isn't obvious to others from the pictures and the videos, anabolics have well invaded the competition already. They are not against the rules and likely never will be.

What percentage of the commenters who claim to be mil really are? 5 or 10%, maybe?RPC wrote:I love how all of these enlisted personell (assuming they're truly active duty) speak to an officer. The punchline for stosh, at least, is why in the freakin world are they so agitated about criticism of an exercise 'program'? I mean, you could read my log and call it non-productive or call it ignorant training or call it communist, I'd sit here and continue to eat my burrito. It's freakin exercise and physical play. There're some genuine perspective problems there at Couchfit.

If your ancestors were gatherers that picked berries and ran to survive you will always be a pathetic creature that runs from adversity. To all those who come from hunters and warriors keep on fightin! Crossfit will take you to levels you never thought you could go.

Link please. I'd love to see some debate on the addition of anabolics to the @fit protocol.Shaf wrote:Garrett Smith finally says something right! From the Pmenu. The rest of his post wasn't bad, either.

Killjoy. Anybody else notice just how many moderators they have on the PM? Also, take a look at Alan's warning that the thread was pushing the limits of "polite discussion." WTF?Uber Moderator wrote:This thread is borderline... Regardless of opinions RE steroid use, let's save the claims until there's actually evidence of such. As I understand it, the games will be tested next year, so the potential for a problem has been recognized and is being addressed about as well as it can be in any sport.
Just remember - this is not a forum for bashing CF or the people running it (or anyone else). Let's keep the discussion strictly technical or it's going to disappear completely.

WRT @fit and metrics. I'm sure most people here know I'm a Personal Hygiene and Sanitation Consultant at Haliburton. Sounds mundane, but we're pretty competitive bunch outside the waste water treatment facility. Recently we had a competition at work that I logged in my journal. Looked like this:
me wrote:18 April 2008
Got up this morning a little earlier than usual and decided to do some light conditioning work:
1. Push up: 92x1 (1:00)
2. Sit up: 51x1 (1:00)
3. Pull up: 15x1
4. Dip: 23x1
5. Run 2 mi, (pavement)
6. Swim, 500m
7. Run, 5 mi. (pavement/sand)
8. Ruck: 7 mi (55#)
Took a bit over 3 hours.
I beat all my @fetishist colleagues to bits on the muscle endurance events. Having only run maybe 3 times this calendar year up to that day, I obviously sucked at running, but coming out of the pool, I had outswam about half of them. Enough to offset time lost during the second run. This, plus the way we "scored" it, meant that after my time was adjusted for reps in events 1-4 above the group average, I placed in the top 25%. I think the unadjusted average mile on mile difference between me and the fastest guys was less than a minute difference. Also, If it had been scored by line item I wold have won first by an unweighted average of individual event placings.
My run time was admittedly not great, but I'd rather take my program than one that produced a statistical average of 6 strict pull ups and 11 dips. I add in some conditioning to my program, and I've got the @fags beat across the board next time, too easy.
Oh, and at the end, which I didn't log, as we came in we dropped rucks and did an immediate 2 min BJJ match. In mine I quickly broke the guard of a rabid @fitter and submitted him with a bent arm bar. No need to get someplace fast if you're just hurrying up to get your own ass kicked. Small victories, as we say.

You have no chance to survive make your time.
Ha Ha Ha Ha ....

"I was arguing with someone just before the games started about the pullup standard. Adam or Gaucioin maybe? I argued the standard is fine, but it wasn't right that the elite guys knew ahead of time. I was, shall I say, scoffed at, and informed that everyone was informed the same day the video was posted on July 4th. Well, OPT clearly states in the video he had 5 days advanced notice. Just food for thought. Make the exercises as strict and tough as you'ld like, but you have to make a good faith effort to inform everyone at the same time. Peace my bothers, peace.

PA Rob #583,
<<As for the professionalism… i.e. “hot mama” video, the profanity, and some of the other video’s obsessed with the female backside… you just ran right by those didn’t you?
Yeah, prudery and disgust at the female anatomy are not part of my composition. Quite the contrary, I’m rather enamored with women. Don’t tell me you don’t like beer or tacos either?!?! BTW, we never did a "hot mama" video, but you're showing promise here.
