Nope. Believe me, I tried.

It's not like I really need to see it again, I did that whole mess already, I was just trying to show it to a friend who asked about it. Thought it was funny that Glassman was referring to it but the entire saga seemed to have been wiped clean.

The good thing about the Internet, OK, the bad thing for you, is that we don't have to dicker; there's a public record.

The entire Dan John fiasco occurred in public. That is, in fact, something I took some criticism for. Your characterization is flat out false.

Maybe you don't remember, more likely you weren't paying attention, but at any rate my criticisms were made on these very pages and that record is indisputably in sync with my comments today.

Maybe you have claim to my motivations beyond the public record of my statements, but I find that ludicrous.

Do a little homework and come back and explain to us the source of your confusion. It would be interesting to see.

No worries. Looks like they kissed and made up.
I just spoke to Dan John. He's my friend. The spat is over. We'll be getting together as soon as schedules allow. This was unfortunate and I regret my obvious part in allowing the row to start and continue.

I'll wait for Dan's confirmation before I believe this. I suspect it is a clever and well timed piece of trolling by one of us. I'd love to take credit, but they have my IP address on file and will report me to the interweb authorities if I try to troll on the illustrious mainpaige.

I talked to Dan right after all this happened. Kind of the whole thing ended up, "whoa"....

So leaving out all the details, that other guy called Dan. Dan once told me, as I was putting on my armor and getting ready for a scalp, that he could forgive with just one phone call. He is that way. He believes what he teaches. Better man than me.

1 other cultist was above 400, and one brushed greatness at 385. Not much else to speak of. Can't wait for DL day...

A question for the Bichos, if DJ now posts a kick ass squat/dl workout, can couch claim cultfit made it happen?

It is like holding a mirror up to a mirror...

I'm just a new-guy internet nobody, but IMO Glassman owes Dan a huge public apology.

Dan is a scholar and a gentleman while Cooch is a sanctimonious greezball.

CF is probably a money train for those who lead certs and the like, so I understand if there is incentive for Dan to make up, but from the standpoint of Karmic redemption and credibility, Glassman needs Dan a lot more than Dan needs him.

And despite all that, I just get this horrible feeling that Dan will end up bowing to Couch to kiss the ring so that Couch can pimp him and betray him all over again.

Call me a commie, but I hate that money makes the world go round, and Glassman holds so many of the chips in this biz.

Thud,

Dan is not into money, or for the money. Big dummy gives away most everything for free. I keep telling him, let me handle your stuff and we'll both get rich.

Karmic redemption was discussed with me and Dan last night.

Right on.

Glassman assfucked Dan with a plumber's snake. A phone call can't make everything ok. Dan ought to put a javelin in the round man's eye socket.

There's nothing a little righteous violence can't fix.

I apologize for overstating that slant, and I can tell that about Dan even from afar

I guess I just can't relate to what's in it for Dan, if not in some sort of career sense? Yesterday Glasshole says they're friends, but the day before - some 20 or so months after the fact - he's STILL publicly defecating on him -- and saying he'd do it again!!!
Dan John wasn't removed for "not furiously defending crossfit", he was criticized for making profoundly misleading statements about his involvement with CF, and our influence on his professional work, and then passed up for a much more accomplished lifter and coach, Mark Rippetoe. It was all nettlesome, yet I'd do it again if circumstance presented itself similarly.

Comment #49 - Posted by: Coach at August 3, 2008 10:38 PM
If that's him on the eve of humility I'd hate to see him breeding spite.

Is this someone Dan really wants to be "friends" with?

And FWIW, I think Shaf and Fox, and anyone else who was a casualty of this or similar affairs, should also be reinstated with public apologies. Then one might assume that Cooch is a changed man, and redemption is already underway. But as it stands now, this reads to me like Glassman is merely EXPLOITING Dan's good nature as a quick fix to add luster to his own self-soiled image.

xfit vs Olympian discussion.
These fuckers disabled comments, so I couldn't share my feelings with them. So I'll vent here:

--

I call BS on the idea that the original post was some kind of well-thought-out analytic comparison of a bunch of athletes' genuine attributes against Xfitters. That claim is what we call 'disingenuous'. The implied self-congratulation is incredible. If a genuine analysis was intended you'd think that there would have been some note that none of these people give a flying fuck what their bench or squat numbers are relative to b/w or, in some cases, at all, because they are training multiple hours a day in actual sports.

How do you Xfit internet warriors figure you'd go against either of the runners (even the sprinter with his modest VO2max), the track cyclist or the rower on a task that included an endurance component? You know, you're always talking up well-roundedness, but now?

You know, a lot of the athletes pictured probably don't even really know (or care about) their geniune maxes, because they actually have something to do with their bodies that the rest of the world actually gives a shit about. Or do you think that Sarah Hammer really benches 135lbs and squats 225lbs by sheer coincidence? And Cheryl Haworth probably has a coach that would go ballistic if she started doing bench maxes; but sure, keep kidding yourself that she couldn't shoulder press more than 107lbs. Riiiight: she can support and control about triple that above her head....

Also stupid is pretending that someone being 15 inches _taller_ would make their "CFT" more than yours. Hello? Being 6'9" makes pretty much every lift in the world much, much harder, not easier. That's already pathetic that you're making excuses that a rower with a 215lb bench and 245lb squat is stronger than you, but to claim that he's got an advantage because he's taller is pure ignorance.

All together now: "Is it any wonder that everyone hates Crossfit"?

He's smart enough to know that the only actions you can truly control are your own. Cool on him.

OK, if the Rev says it's real, I believe. I also believe that this was motivated by a majority of those who know both cooch and Dan that sided with Dan on this ballyhoo, me included. I'm one of the few who has spoken with both about this and found Dan to be the one with the level head and karma intact. Remember, cooch told me, "Dan John has no squat."

So, if cooch has dropped his petty jealousy and come to realize that he was alienating many of his long-time dedicated followers, good for him. I, for one, suspect his long delayed apology is not only overdue by about 2 years, it is also motivated by avarice. Dan, on the other hand, has nothing to lose in accepting the cooch's mea culpa.

I fear the cooch/DJ make up has killed this thread.
In case it has, I offer this:
cooch wrote:Lauren and I want to thank Johnny Mac & Brian Mackenzie, all of the CrossFit Affiliates, and the entire CrossFit community for these dream bikes. All of you have blessed us beyond our wildest dreams. We launched this website and program hoping to make a difference for people, but nothing could have prepared us for the love and friendship that has come our way. Thank you!

Maybe I'm delusional...but this belch of gratitude coming so long after receipt of the gift...is it possible Cooch would be oblivious to how contemptible he is without the good help of this thread?
