A bigger nail than you realize. OPT (or AFT), one of the CF studs/heroes is formerly a big Pelican guy. He still uses the biosignature stuff with his clients. In fact, he (OPT) says it's silly for everyone to do the same CF WOD and eat the same diet. I believe he tweaks the program quite a bit based on the biosig stuff.Rant wrote:Shapecharge wrote:Time to get back on the clock shitstains...check this shit out:

Another nail in the coffin is always good but nothing most of us weren't saying 6 years ago. The good news is that “@fit = bullshit” is now becoming institutionalized in the S&C profession. Douchebags will still buy into @fit but the days of legitimate athletes and trainers joining the flock are long gone. The @fit name has been sullied.

Shaf, your knowledge of the internets and the players within I find extremely hot. Since the wife is out of town would you like to come over tonight for nachos and some snuggle time on the couch?

Only if you cut up fresh jalapenos this time instead of the pickled ones.
I once briefed someone going to one of those mega-conferences with dozens of speakers. I was able to give my associate a run down on ~85% of the speakers.

I bet you have kickass gaydar. That shit eludes me. I still think Troy Aikman is hetero, for example.
Don’t believe everything you think.
Re: The couch thread
My own gaydar is excellent. I knew Clay Aiken was gay right off, for example.nafod wrote:I bet you have kickass gaydar. That shit eludes me. I still think Troy Aikman is hetero, for example.
Of course, newly-hatched monitor lizards living in a hollow log in Sumatra knew that too, but still, I should get some credit.

Nayfunk since you brought it up...I know someone personally, a gay guy, that swears he carried on an affair while he was working in Denver with two-time Super Bowl winner and Hall of Famer, John Elway. He's not kidding.

Now all this talk of "gaydar" reminds me of my favorite scene from Repo Man. The scene where they're all sitting around the fire in the repo yard talking about John Wayne movies and the mechanic comes in and says,
"John Wayne was a faggot." The repo men all reply with, "The hell he was!"
The mechanic retorts, "I installed two-way mirrors in his house in Bel Air. He came to the door wearing a dress."
Ah. Whatever happened to Harry Dean Stanton anyway?

The cool thing about training is that becoming more sexy is just a side effect........

they aren't the cheeks you want to see, but the ones on her face.

It's pretty striking. At one time she was willing to engage me in offline discussions and I frankly thought her to be a good shit. When I started to get into discussions about recovery and restoration things soured and now I’m persona non grata. I can’t say anything for certain but as someone who is in his mid 40s, with a long history of sport’s wear and tear and a fair amount of knowledge about training, it seems odd that certain people are hitting new peaks in their 40s. Either I’m really misinformed and doing something wrong or they are up to something shady. You can’t chalk this shit up to The Zone.

Re: The couch thread
Why would it be out of the norm for someone to hit a new athletic "peak" in their 40's if start doing more weight training and possibly training harder/smarter (which isn't the case with @fit). Wasn't this chick an ultramarathoner? Take someone like that, get them on a steady diet of weight training and feed them...well, they may just look or be more "fit". I don't know. Hell, at the rate I'm going I'll either be a very fit 40-something or an invalid.

Nothing would be unusual had she been deconditioned (which she wasn’t) or had she come from a muscle atrophying sport like marathoning (which she didn’t). When @fit talks about elite athletes think Eva. She’s is it but that status applied long before she came to @fit. She is no doubt a beast but is arguably the poster girl for crappy and compromising @fit form and yet she keeps going. Don’t get me wrong. I’m impressed and envious because Eva and I are the same age. Even taking into account that I lead an adult life and not the continuation of adolescence that so many @fit trainers do I’m still “baffled” by the obvious change in her appearance.
BTW. How old are you Dano?

Re: The couch thread
On the 40 year old thing, I believe that some strength sports (such as powerlifting) athletes can actually continue to improve into their 40s. Oly lifting is the exact opposite; I would see boxing and other speed/skill CNS type sports being the same. I got no clue where xfit would fit on that scale. It's sorta of it's own beast or something?
