350 to 450 bucks seems like a screaming deal.
Do they work OK?
Can you type on them if your hands are bigger than average?
Can you really get six hours off one battery charge?
Is the 10 inch screen difficult to work on?
What's the drawback, aside from lack of a DVD player?
Anybody have one of those new 3 lb computers?

i have one.
Works great, i have big hands and make very few mistakes on the little keyboard. The battery does really last 5-6 hours. The only drawback I've found is the lack of an optical drive. Totally worth the $400. Mine weighs 2.2 lbs and is smaller than a text book, makes travel a lot easier.

Very cool. Thanks for the links. As someone that sports 12" I can tell you that there are many occasions when it's too small. This probably goes without saying but if you are a writer or doing research that requires having multiple documents open side by side a small screen sucks. As a second computer those things look awesome.
Re: Anybody have one of those new 3 lb computers?
I bought a Acer Aspire One about a week ago. I'm real happy with it. My hands are a bit bulky and fingers fat, for a small guy anyway. I wouldn't want to type too long on it, but I wouldn't want to type too long on anything but a ergo keyboard. In the past, I would bring one to my former job every day, because a regular keyboard was to painful. It seems pretty fast. I wouldn't recommend photoshop on it, but office runs fine. It has plenty of memory and storage for me. 1 gig mem 120 gig HD. I would warn if your going to use the battery a lot, you'll need more than the 3 cell. It's around 2 1/2 hours for a charge. They have 6 and 9 cell available. I'm not sure if I need more battery yet or not. I use it corded at work and corded in my gym. I use google chrome for a browser. It gives the maximum screen, without clutter. The screen is big enough for most stuff. It's a trade off with size. It is very easy to carry and take with. It pcks up on wireless networks real quick.
For only $300, as a second, or for me a 3rd computer it's a steal. I give it a 9 out of 10. Missing 10 only for battery life.
I've seen quite a few people on campus with them...

I neglected to mention that i use it as a second computer for when I'm traveling for work or school, not as my primary computer.
