I glanced through that yesterday and was meaning to post it.

I thought the post at the end of the thread was pretty funny:
Maybe someone should just start a thread of hot crossfit chicks.

Welbourn is a complete beast though if he can do 23 strict pullups at 300 pounds.
He played at around 300 before he popped for the sauce. Look at his pics when he was with pats at the end...not the beast he was in KC. Even at 240-250 23 pullups is great. But remember he played in the NFL. He was an elite athlete for a long time before he joined the cult.

Still, keep in mind the question: Did cultfit make him a better football player or did being an ex-nfl player make cultfit look better?

typical gym-use of anabolic steroids hovers around 10-20%, with a high (in one Gym I’ve read about) of 90%. So why wouldn’t the numbers be equivalent – if not higher – for Crossfitters, who consider themselves much more “hardcore” than the average gym member…?
But the question remains “Do CrossFitters use anabolic steroids?”

The answer is yes. Unequivocally, yes. The incidence of use is not as high as bodybuilding or powerlifting, but I know (firsthand) that steroids are being used…the difference is that they’re taboo in that community, while in powerlifting or bodybuilding, they’re accepted, and part of open conversation.

I know several guys who are either involved in the CrossFit community, train at CrossFit gyms, subscribe to the newsletter, or just do the workouts…and who use anabolic steroids. One of them has done a cycle, another has done one and is starting a second shortly, and a third has done one cycle (but with no plans to do another), and another has done steroids for decades.

I opened the envelope and slid out an x-ray film. Holding it up to the dome light, I saw a blacked out joint, a femur and tibia joined by thin white tentacles and a pile of rubble, the detritus of a destroyed knee.

“This is your knee! Jesus, why didn’t you tell me?”

My brain cycled wildly between disbelief and regret. I’d stood beside John, demanding range of motion, demanding bodyweight back squats, the Space Needle built on a pile of marshmallows. I’d told him to do what no sane man should.

Simple example would be last year's winner and this year's 5th place guy, Jason Khalipa (who this year managed to come in 3rd from last in the first run event, collapsing and going to the medical tent, yet still being allowed to finish the event):

Height: 5'9"
Weight: 205
So I put those numbers into the Fat-Free Mass Index calculator, which states:
A study of elite athlete (some admitted steroid users and some not) combined with an analysis of 20 Mr. America contest winners from the 1939-1959 pre-steroid era, determined that a fat free mass index of 25 is pretty much an upper limit for someone who does not use steroids.
Plugged in an approximated 10% bodyfat number from that picture above, with the height and weight

This is just funny to me...

Shaf-like rugby player:
The occasional random workout

Here's a funny thing my wife noticed I do the other day. I guess I never really thought about it, but now I wonder how many other CFers share in this quirk.
I don't think I ever did it before CF, so maybe it is a product of CF or just fitness in general.

How many of you just do the occasional random workout? By that I mean you're about to get in the shower and you just suddenly do 10-20 air squats. Or you're going to the kitchen and you drop and do 20 push-ups. Or you're on the floor petting the dog and then drop back and do 25 sit-ups?

I do stuff like that all the time and it drives my wife crazy. One that really gets her is when I brace my feet on the tub and stretch out to where I'm in the push-up position at an angle with my hands on the bathroom counter and I bust out 20 incline push-ups.

Anyone else pull the random workout for no reason thing? Thought it was kind of funny.
Fag with an LOLcat for an avatar:
You know those things that form lines at banks, amusement parks and Taco Bell? I always do either L-holds or dips.

And escalators. I try to do an l-sit hold the whole way down.
One of the uglier @fit chicks:
yep! it was pretty awesome. i was roadtripping to the games and we spent a few days camping in yellowstone. we were backed up on the road to get out for at least a half hour. hooked my ipod with my tabata tracker to the car, hopped out and did tabata squats on the side of the road

i'm annoyed my family didn't get pictures
LOLcat fag again:
I bring KBs to parties. I was at one and we used "Most snatches in 5 minutes" to determine the starting order of Beer Olympics.
Guy demonstrating that @Fit cockiness everyone smart hates:
It's just an indicator of excess energy, or put another way, excess capability. Which is what we're doing this to achieve. I do it too - every time i take my kid to the park i do some pull-ups or L-hangs or something.

I've also experienced Jason's 'everything looks like a KB' phenomenon. When I did karate, i would often envision kicking random passers-by - not out of agression, just because i was so used to seeing them as targets. Now everything looks like something to do pull-ups of.

Yep, still no regrets about switching out Crossfit for karate

John looks anything but. Six foot five with limbs to match, he wasn’t built to move weight, yet a childhood of ignoring anthropometry had left him crazy strong.

John had seen an end result that was more important than the obstacles in the way, that something beautiful could be built atop something inhospitable, and now he was reaping the benefits, back squatting three hundred and thirty five pounds at thirty nine years of age.
Ah. This is obviously some strange usage of the words "crazy strong" that I hadn't previously been aware of.

That's what kids do until they get too old and it starts to piss off people, so they get yelled at.
Or they don't get yelled at and end up being @fit douches.

Seriously, if you see a fucking grown up man IN THE AMUSEMENT PARK doing L-Holds and Dips while waiting in line... what the fuck is wrong with those people. How could you honestly be such an attention whore?

I had a "friend" in highschool that was just like this. Always throwing punches, kicks, and shit at people because he was in martial arts. He popped me in the gut one day so I backed him into a wall, let him slug me a few more times then picked him up by the armpits (fucker only weighed 120 pounds) and slammed him into a brick wall, hardstyle. Ended the grabass right quick.

Its highly recommended that the same be applied to fuck-knuckles cavorting on public property, escalators, etc.
