Props to her. She seems genuinely enthusiastic about her training. A female doesn't hit 260/255 by accident.

Good on you, ANYC.

BWAAHAAAHAAHAAA

According to guys like Jake, my grade school field day was like the olympics. After all, we tested multiple modes of fitness and sport including sack racing, kickball, and the 40 yard dash.

Actually, this may have been more athletic than the Cultfit Gaymes. Kickball is more sporting than, say, hammering a stake in the ground or tumbling down the side of a dusty hill in the California sun.

Hey Crossfitters, a question.

Why don't the WOD's include, say, kickball? Why do you neglect the modal domain of kicking a ball? Kicking is a very natural, even fundamental human movement? So, why don't you train it?

And, since you don't train it, what modal domain DO you train that will prepare you for kicking a ball?? Please don't tell me you're inadequately prepared for this task. You never know what life, or combat, will throw at you.

Thanks.

Kickball is underrated IMO. Good game.

Maybe post a video in digital coaching, or over in Ripp's forum.

On Monday I was doing my normal warm-up. It's similar to the CFWU, but I include 5 minutes of Jump Rope and DU practice and GH sit-ups rather then abmat. I skipped any Pull-ups because that was part of my WOD.

After the few exercises, I moved to the Glute Ham Developer. On the first rep I feel this pop in my stomach. Since then I've got a sharp pain that is about 3inches left of my naval.

It doesn't hurt when I'm sitting here relaxing, but with any strain or full extension I get a sharp pain. For example, any pushups, pull-ups, or even extending both arms fully above my head and leaning back hurts. It is a sharp pain that goes away whenever I relax my ab muscles.

On a scale of 1-10 I'd say it's a 6. It's not enough to make me stop doing whatever exercise is causing the pain, but it is very uncomfortable.

Does anyone have any idea what the injury is and what course or treatment I should follow? Will continuing to workout make the problem worse?

Let's assume that "10" requires patient-controlled analgesia, if he is only at 6, I say, just continue to work out through the discomfort, pussy.

i experienced 10 pain once. i was having my knee stretched while strapped to the table with a seat belt.
i passed out.
i like that story.

agreed. 5 is a WOD...10 is passed out from pain...some times it goes to 11. i call it sleepytime plus! had a toenail removed without anesthetic... woke up with the nurses trying to slide me out of a pool of vomit... i'd break off a finger and eat it before doing that again.

BLOODY HELL!

Now imagine how much easier it would've been with the high pain threshold you develop through Cultfit. When you're as work-hardened as Couch, pain don't hurt.
