The first part is gay. That's obviously. Just for fun I'd like to call the list of @F certified OLY "coaches" and tell them I need a meet coach, someone to tell me what to wear, how and when to warm up, what to open with, how much to jump, what to eat the night before, etc. Ask them what their hourly rate is for coaching at the meet.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:I also snicker at OL certified Crossfit folks whom have never competed in a single fucking meet.
That disconnect between the huge surge of bumper plate sales and the static membership of the US WL org shows that, no, Crossfit isn't helping grow legit OL in the US, yet.
But I still think that @F will bear a little fruit for USAW. Exposure can only help. I wouldn't get too caught up on bumper plate sales since many affiliates only have bumpers.
And Rant, that's it? Now that you're back from sabbatical and have found the OTW, will the archives be restored?

Do OL meets involve supersetting high-rep chinups between each attempt now?

Bumpers and oly lifting are preffered by @f because it is a way to look badass with little work. Bumpers are deceiving and make you look stronger than you are. i was using bumpers at a @f gym last week and couldn't put collars on with 295lbs! Oly is so rare in gyms that a 135 power clean or even a 65lb power or squat clean with BFS 10lb plates looks like something amazing, where try that in the BP or backsquat and you will get abused.Gin Master wrote:The first part is gay. You mean like this fuckin' guy?

I hate to bag on a motherfucker's lifts because, frankly, we all had to start somewhere. My first set of squats at age 17 was 60lbs for ten reps, and it was brutal. But come on, 115lb front squats, even for 15 reps as teh caption declared isn't even in the same zip code as skrong. I hope to god that was his first day of training. Ever.

One or more of bumpers + 'weird equipment' + 'exotic' moves is key to many amazing new programs. Avoid the familiar moves that everyone already knows about and does all the time. It's easier to put 20% on the average brotard's overhead press than 5% his bench cause he doesn't OP. @fit has an easy run these days because its target audience includes people that consider back squat and DL 'exotic'.powerlifter54 wrote: Bumpers and oly lifting are preffered by @f because it is a way to look badass with little work. IMO this is the #1 reason for all the 'let's hate on the bench press as non-functional' stuff over the years. It's not because it's laying down on a comfy padded bench. It's not cause linemen typically press each other overhead during play... Its just because any given program looks less impressive when the people doing it have already been training a movement. Plenty of brotards out there with 150kg bench and 100kg squat. Your exotic new program might give them a 155kg bench, or maybe a 140kg one: better stay away from the bench.
This is also the real reason for the starring role in 'side press' in PTTP in my opinion but that's off-topic.

Not for nothing but Lisa Lugo is a hot piece of ass. She hasn't gotten all hard and harsh. She has that soft stripper, or porn star look. Baffles me how she can climb under that ass clown couch. If he was a drunken slob with some element of charm I could see, but this can not end well.

Maybe she is banging Couch to hurt her Ex. I mean what could hurt worse than having your stripper hot wife dump your ass for that dork and then publicly have an affair with him. Ouch!
