I should've known some limp dick faggot would take offense to the story, given the beginning theme. Let me make you feel better deary. You are bigger, stronger, faster, cooler, fuck more models, drink more champagne, make more money, are smarter neater and radder and all that great shit than me. And I bet you can even beat your dad up now. There ya go, does that balance out the fact that someone on the internet mentioned that they did something better than someone else one time? I sure hope so you fragile ego'ed pussy.

To answer your original question...Velocity sports used to be the best place to go for sprint training in my area. But since the presence of other men will likely give you a fucking envygasm, I would suggest you find a personal female coach from your local college track team, and you should forewarn her that any mention of her previous achievements will likely garner endless snarky faggotry from you.
Whoa there. Was an honest question, about the sprint training. But I changed my post b/c I'd rather hear more about your exploits. Also, why would I have a rofl reading this forum if I took offense to all the anti-crossfit here? I revel in it.

Dial down your paranoia and gimme the story!

Well, sorry man. Here's the entire story. I had a coworker who is into 'alternative fitness' like martial arts, crossfit, etc. Knowing that I had ran track most of my life, and now mostly lift weights (oly lifts, powerlifting, and yes...some assorted hypertrophy bullshit), he wanted to see if I could do this cool new 'crossfit' stuff. He set up the entity and financing for this local crossfit franchise (I don't know the business model) so he was buddies with some guy who has a big name in our region (first local franchisee as I understand it). It was only myself, my coworker and the franchisee. He made me do what was essentially a metcon lifting complex of 7's that involved 5 movements I think, with something called a "sumo deadlift high pull." I put up a fast time. At the time, I assumed everyone who did crossfit was old, which was an explanation of my 'fast time." As it turns out, that isn't true. The guy suggested that I enter myself into their crossfit games, which sounded like a really gay workout contest. I didn't do it. That's it.

Brock Douchenozzle, if you substitute oly lifiting for powerlifting you get the Greg Everett training plan to demolish the @fit Gaymes without doing the WAD.

As a recovering strength training douchebag I can say I miss the power heavy squats, deads, military press, and bench once gave me.

But alas I'm injured and trying to drop weight so I have to suffer. At least when I lose strength now it's by choice and not from following the WOD.

This just in...you can make the made-up word "wod" even stupider by trying to use it as a verb: link
I warmed up and got ready to wod with the intention of doing 3 ohs (105lbs) and 3 deadlifts (185lbs) on the minute for 15 minutes.
When I think of getting ready to wad, it has nothing to do with overhead squats or deadlifts.

The rest of the post was equally amusing re WOD. This from 'Killer' Crossfit-ness. Whatever the fuck that means..
Today was one of those days for me.

I warmed up and got ready to wod with the intention of doing 3 ohs (105lbs) and 3 deadlifts (185lbs) on the minute for 15 minutes. I did a practice round as a timing test. The goal with doing reps on the minute is to do 20 seconds of work with 40 seconds of rest. My test round took me 35 seconds. The ohs’s took much longer than I had thought. The weight and the stability of the ohs took much more than I had planned on. The 15 min on the minute wod was better in theory, and I felt like a ‘big fat loser’ for not being able to pull it off.

I thought about dropping the weight, but decided against it. The goal of going heavy was to get used to the fact that I can do heavy and live.

I thought about dropping the reps, but how do you lower 3? You don’t! So today I compromised.

Today’s WOD:

3 ohs (105lbs)
3 deadlifts (185lbs)
30 seconds rest
10 rounds

Some days your off your “A” game, and that’s ok. Instead of beating yourself up mentally and thinking you’re a ‘big fat loser’, push through it. You’ll be thankful you did. If you set a goal and it seems too much, walking away from it completely will beat you up mentally far longer than modifying the wod. If I would have dropped to a lower weight, I would have been just as scared the next time I saw 105lbs OHS in a wod. Now I know it’ll be tough, but do able.
I'm no English major, but the general lack of intelligence and ability to write a sentence is amazing. 'your' <sb> You're and do able <sb> doable. Good God, they do have spell check and grammer check on even the most basic blog software!

A Case of Dumbass by Edgar Allan PL54

THE thousand injuries of the drones I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge. You, who so well know the nature of my soul, will not suppose, however, that gave utterance to a threat. At length I would be avenged; this was a point definitely, settled --but the very definitiveness with which it was resolved precluded the idea of risk. I must not only punish but punish with impunity. A wrong is unredressed when retribution overtakes its redresser. It is equally unredressed when the avenger fails to make himself felt as such to him who has done the wrong.

It must be understood that neither by word nor deed had I given Couch cause to doubt my good will. I continued, as was my wont, to smile at his insults, and he did not perceive that my smile now was at the thought of his immolation.

He had a weak point -- this Couch -- although in other regards he was a man to be respected and even feared. He prided himself on his connoisseurship in broads, bottles, and domains. Few Californians have the true virtuoso spirit. For the most part their enthusiasm is adopted to suit the time and opportunity, to practise imposture upon the weak minded douchebags and hot soccer moms so frequent in those sunny environs. In gait, grooming, and erudition Couch, like his fellow left Coasters, was a quack, but in the matter of old Gymnastic injuries he was sincere. In this respect I did not differ from him materially; --I was experienced in both injury and alchohol, and preferred the icy chillednectar of the Juniper bush to a grueling workout whenever I could not forebear.

It was about dusk, one evening during the supreme madness of the carnival season, that I encountered my friend. He accosted me with excessive warmth, for he had been drinking much. The man wore motley. He had on a tight-fitting parti-striped dress, and his head was surmounted by the conical cap and bells. I was so pleased to see him that I thought I should never have done wringing his hand.

I said to him --"My dear Couch, you are luckily met. How remarkably well you are looking to-day. But I have received peer reviewed, correlated, and allegedly conclusive Fitness data that passes for Science, and I have my doubts."

"How?" said he. "Conclusive, Peer reviewed? Impossible! And in the middle of the carnival!"

"I have my doubts," I replied; "and I was silly enough to pay the full Buddy Lee Jumprope cert price without consulting you in the matter. You were not to be found, and I was fearful of continuing in my morbid obesity and weak underperformance."

"Peer Reviewed?"

"I have my doubts."

"Correlated?"

"And I must satisfy them."

"allegedly conclusive Fitness data?"

"As you are engaged, I am on my way to Greg Everett's upcoming symposium in Sunnyvale. If any one has a critical turn it is he. He will tell me --"

"Everett cannot tell Data from Sherry."

"And yet some fools will have it that his brillaince is a match for your own.

"Come, let us go."

"Whither?"

"To the Summit." (props to Kreator)[citation missing]

To be continued...In pace requiescat!

“Proceed,” I said; “herein is the Black Box Summit. As for Everett ——”

“He is a novice weightlifter” interrupted my friend, as he stepped unsteadily forward, while I followed immediately at his heels. In an instant he had reached the extremity of the gym, and finding his progress arrested by the stack of bumper plates, stood stupidly bewildered. A moment more and I had fettered him to the squat rack. In its surface were two steel gymnastics rings, distant from each other about two feet, horizontally. Throwing the rings about his waist, it was but the work of a few seconds to secure it. He was too much astounded to resist. Withdrawing the straps I stepped back from the rack.

“Pass your hand,” I said, “over the bar; you cannot help feeling the 95#. Indeed, it is very heavy. Once more let me implore you to complete the Fran. No? Then I will positively leave you. But I must first render you all the little attentions in my power.”

“The Summit!” ejaculated my friend, not yet recovered from his astonishment.

“True,” I replied; “the Summit.”

I believe Couch's dog eats PALEO. Seriously. I think I read something by him once where he described his dog's diet being similar to CnP's chicken wing diet.
