Thanks. I had forgotten I had read that already. Still nice to revisit.

Some busy little fuckers over here at IGx:
CrossFit responds to criticism that its program is too intense by citing an essential element of its methodology: workouts should always be individually scaled and varied and yet offers no official system in which to scale or vary workouts, essentially leaving many people on their own.

Many CrossFit gyms use scoring and ranking systems, transforming workouts into sport. This of course leads to the question "If every day is your sport, when do you recover?"

CrossFit subsequently established the affiliate-owned CrossFit Risk Retention Group to provide a form of self-insurance and vigorously defend any future lawsuits. The money for the RRG has of course been raised, but as of yet no actual protection from the RRG has been offered.

CrossFit says the competition is now a laboratory for human performance, with the male and female champions having plausible claims to being the fittest people in the world, but in actuality the term "Fittest Man in the World" is trademarked [9], and it appears CrossFit is in violation of its terms of use.

This is by far the most revolutionary theory to ever enter the fitness/health community. Adding the age axis unifies everything humans can hope for which is a long life doing the things they love right until they die. I too would never want to live to 150 with 70 years in a nursing home. I also, as coach mentions, would not want Greg Amundson's capacity and die at 60. This model gives us the best framework to evaluate everything we do to see if it will give us optimal health. Now everytime I consider trying something I ask myself will it increase my work capacity across broad time and modal domains AND will it increase the age axis. If I answer no to either of those things, then I won't do it. I would never take steroids because it will increase my work capacity, but it will not increase the age axis, it will shorten it. Just like I will not start doing Tai Chi and yoga because it can increase the age axis, but will not increase my work capacity. This model unifies everything in health, fitness, longevity, quality of life, performance, etc. I honestly believe the CrossFit prescription is the key to living the longest, best, most badass life possible.
Jesus, you would think that some 26 yr old genius with unkempt hair working on his physics between World of Warcraft raids had just discovered the Theory of Everything. And the entire scientific community gathers around to fondle him for his keystone contribution to mankind's knowledge.

Remember folks, the key to the Grand Unified Theory of Fitness and Health was adding "teh age axis"!

Also, if you google "Mike Caviston," page 268 of this thread pops up as the 2d link, and page 268 has some good shit on it.

As for the "age axis," don't forget, you've got to take that 2D model, turn it around, flip it over, rub it down, OH NO! You've got fitness, bitches.

Too bad Siff or Verkhoshanksy didn't think of that.

Obviously. Just check the injury forum or ask the 2003-04 cultfitters how healthy they are, if you can find any.

Looks new to me. I like this part:
Wanna hear something funny? I was trying to find an image for this point, and I plugged "Crossfit Douche" into Google Images. First page is a picture of me. Now THAT is funny.

We signed the "STOP Dave Castro from ruining CrossFit" petition! .# 46: 2:55 pm PST, Jan 16, Matt Kostielney, California
I can speak only for the interactions I've had in the past with both Greg Everett and Dave Castro since I was not at this particular certification. Greg Everett has a profound influence in the discipline of Olympic Lifting for a couple of reasons; he is proficient, educated, experienced, and professional. Dave Castro is the type of personality that talks above you when you ask questions and carries a demeanor about him which warrants a significant ass beating; an experience I am very surprised Greg did not afford Dave the opportunity to enjoy. Dave comes from a SOF community which depends on professionalism and determination as a means to accept and accomplish high risk missions. Coming from operational status within SOF I cannot fathom that NAVSPECWAR would allow Dave to claim their exceptional unit as home....and the same applies to CrossFit HQ. Out of humility and personal disgust and disgrace Dave Castro should turn in his Trident and his position at CrossFit Inc. Hey, Dave. My number is 260-249-4539...call me if you would like to arrange a broken nose since Greg was professional enough to let you slide regardless of your apparent dumb-assery.
# 45: 12:53 pm PST, Jan 1, Name not displayed, Virginia
Being a retired Team guy I can honestly tell you that Dave was a no one in the teams and he is a no one now. He had to be carried through the Teams and it's apparent CF will carry him as well.
These are great!

No, Nicole was busted for not only sleeping with Glassman, but also for sleeping with Dave Castro. She has "reduced duties" as Dave's assistant now. Ask Lauren Glassman for details.
