It's like watching the old episodes of All in the Family before Sally Struthers turned into a land whale.

Scroll halfway down for the 750 deadlift, not 600. The second time I did deadlifts, I pulled 600. Four years of O lifting gets you to 600...I wasted two full years!

Sooooo...Couch's dad is a rocket scientist...he must be SO proud that his son turned out to be a charlatan, a verbose swindler pulling money out of people's pockets w/ base appeals to ego and vanity.
'Atta boy, Couch! The biographical picture becomes more clear.... I wonder when Dr. Glassman realized his son couldn't cut it in...anything...much less science or math.

Reading some of the Google results, Glasshole Sr. isn't much lower on the kookery scale than his boy. Craziness hidden behind a wall of obscure verbosity must be a genetic thing.protobuilder wrote:

ill read through the whole thing and see if i can't pull out any more gems
viewtopic.php?p=397054
Also, then Couch and his cronies had their rebuttal here
http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=2090
Now, I've read this thread from start to finish, and I'm 99% sure that Glassman's rebuttal hasn't been mentioned here. There are some gems in there, such as
It's been hard to find evidence of Couch's "super-eliteness" in gymnastics. Surely, all one needs to do is find out who were the best gymnasts and coaches in the world back in the 70s, and ask them.I came up in the company of super-elite gymnasts. Not once did I in over a decade of sitting in the company of the world’s best gymnasts and coaches for six hours a day six days a week ever here anyone discuss how it was that you became flexible or how you stretched.
Replace the word yoga with crossfit, flexibility with GPP, and gymnasts with athletes, and you have a pretty accurate statement.Hold on, now, I think yoga’s fine. It is a formalized somewhat systematic approach to improve flexibility and has captured the imagination and attention of hundreds of thousands. This is good, very good. But yoga, and other stretching protocols don’t muster up to the flexibility that gymnasts develop without ever giving it a thought.
And he calls Siff a "bald faced liar" about his diet. My brother stayed with Siff for a week for a Supertraining camp, and his diet was pretty much as stated. Lots of fish and veges. Also cost my brother $200 for the week. Compare that to a L1 CF cert. Siff was also in tremendous shape for a guy in his late 50s, apart from his dodgy heart. The fact that someone like Glassman lives on, despite his diet of gin and fried foods, while Siff didn't is a cosmic injustice. Also, Couch benefited greatly from Siff's passing, because I think if Siff found out he was called a bald faced liar, he would've turned his critical attention to CF to an even greater degree than he turned it to someone like Chek.
There are other good quotes, but I'll leave it to someone more experienced in this thread to fish them out

And the @Fers were complaining about the cost of watching Regionals...just wait until they drop the cost of the Gaymes on them, now that it isn't subsidized by Asstro's family!chubbyhubby wrote:I can't believe no one is talking about this: http://games2010.crossfit.com/blog/2010 ... fit-games/
The cross fit gaymes are going to be held at the Home Depot Center in LA. All the cross fit loyal are arguing about whether this means they are selling out, meanwhile HQ is doing a "Lifestyle of the Rich & Famous" tour of the VIP Luxury seats in the accompanying video -- act fast, only 13 available.

You don't need to be an asshole per se, just be a coward and have no squat.chubbyhubby wrote:Well, he was prominently featured in the video I cited above, so apparently he met couch's affability filter. Which makes me very curious just what level of asshole someone needs to be at to get filtered out of @fit.WildGorillaMan wrote:So what's the lowdown on Asstro's fate? Was he not convivial enough?

Oh, and it looks like Jeff Martin has been relegated to @fit cameraman. Good on him.
