...ever try to walk out with 95 on your back? Obviously not.
In regards to the bands, once you can squat the 25lbers, you're an advanced @fit male, and it's time use the advanced methods.
The huge advantage the bands offer is, since the resistance increases exponentially as the band stretches, power output, through this modal domain, has to match it or the athlete will be crushed.
Here's a graph to illustrate this simple point; follow along as I explain...
Since the bands impose an increased eccentric load from the lockout of the squat, this causes the force curve to dip into the second quadrant of the graph. Unlike the Fitness Curve we are used to seeing, with this new curve, everything on the outside of the curve represents fitness.
The parabola flattens at the bottom, this signifies the pause on the box, then it quickly reverses. The unique thing is, the concentric force curve not only matches the eccentric force curve but rapidly exceeds it as the athlete accelerates out of the hole. Power increases so much and to such a high level, the graph runs out of numbers....but the curve stills goes up!!!
This is plain astonishing. Some things are a mathematical reality, indeed.
I can only imagine, my friends, we are not far off from a sub 1 minute Fr@n.
The thought scares me, and once that happens the debate will truly be over.
