Possible IGXer or future IGXer as the OP? Seems like he is over the idea of blindly trusting an unproven system.
Also, never noticed that cunthole Mark Wallace too much until popping on there recently. He drank a little too much of the koolaid.

Plus, if USAW lifting rules are enforced, there will be a cascade of triple reds on press-outs, hitches, elbow touches and not waiting for down signal.
These would seem to be truths that have been divined through competition, not debate.syaigh wrote:However, I coach with a few coaches were have been involved with CF at some level or another and they all have expressed disappointment in how badly @F wrecks their lifter's strength, causes injuries, etc. We had some national level competitors who didn't even rank well state-wide after doing @f for a year.

The vast majority of the threads are injuries previous to beginning CrossFit or ones sustained through strength lifts.

XF = loads of money for OL equipment manufacturers. So much so that independent brands of OL shoes can be manufactured and labelled.

Shaf is right. I was just mentioning to another IGx'er that I paid $200 for Adistars ten years ago, and $99 for Rogues two years ago.
The first time I priced out a set of bumpers and a training bar ten years ago, my cheapest option was Ivanko at three grand. Three years ago, BFS bumpers and a Pendlay bar were well under a grand, including shipping.
Make all the usual jokes about how 5kg bumpers have plenty of profit margin in them, the overall price compression, and explosion of brands wouldn't have happened without Crossfit, and we all benefit.
Between the huge increase in available equipment at affordable prices and what Crossfit does to women's bodies, I think we're all net positive on this equation.

Teh Gorilla has a point. Rogue is awesome, and they appear to cater to x-fitters.

I do agree. The quickness with which so many @Fers reach burnout and/or injury means that their equipment is up for sale used on Craigslist at even cheaper prices!

If the USAW leadership thinks comingling with Cultfit is going to save them, they are a bunch of naive morons. Glassman made what, $2 million or something last year? He doesn't want to "increase USAW's profile," he wants to take over, wipe them out, all Cultfit all the time. You don't run an organization and then let "open up" your doors to another organization that is designed on taking over YOUR sport. It's fucking basic. 101 shit.

Yup--do the math. A local douche has 7 trainers which is $7000 2 are level 2 so another $20000. All 7 trainers have jump rope, endurance ect...5 supp certs by 7 trainers is $14000 add on $2000 a year affiliate and the fact that the bulk of them work for free most weekends (HQ Training Staff) so you are at $25k in under 3 years for ONE BOX! Look on main page...250 people at $1000 per 35 weeks a year! Couch is a dopey drunk fat mother fucker, but he hets paid!Coochy coo made 2 million on T shirts. I imagine a lot of Couch's money went to those fancy clothes, expensive hair styling and plastic surgery. You don't look like him without spending some serious coin.

I want to return briefly to BMack's failed running events and just have one last laugh. If the XFE founder can't get it to work, how can anyone else? The hubris inherent in filming a 40 mile solo run then failing to get more than half way into it is low comedy at it's most esoteric.

His recent failure has him hard-riding the coattails of Brian Chontosh, better known as "Tosh", who did the distance that BitchMack failed to do. But Tosh is not proof of XFE's success, but shows how much of an oddity he is like David Goggins. It would explain why these guys are so successful in the military. Plus, unlike BMacNCheeze, Tosh would have still kept on going if he suddenly had a gimpy hip.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:I want to return briefly to BMack's failed running events and just have one last laugh. What was Twight right about?
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

If you want a model for the benefits of intense circuit training for enduros, look at ShariBaby and the Diva. They never cut miles. They just added deltoids and lost a few items of clothing.
