Now that I think of it, dropping the DL WITH bumper plates would be awesomely functional.
With @fit, the lifting is more about dropping than anything else. I amazes me that they don't drop the barbell at the bottom of the squat.

Now look. I've eaten a pice of pie.
When we spin the pie again, the area cut out of the volume of the sphere equals fitness.

unscared
Does that word mean he has never been scared? Or, he is currently not existing in a scared state? Or he was previously scared, but is now no longer scared? I'm confused.

And, does being 'unscared' have anything to do with being unable to finish races? I'm not an endurance runner so perhaps it is common amongst that group to be "scared" of races? Or scared of finishing them? I'm learning here.

Unscared means being immune to the typical social pressure other athletes feel to complete races.
Unscared means being unique and different. Everybody conformist in the race is running 50 miles. Fuck that shit. He's running 15. Because he can.
Unscared means not being one of the frightened masses who engage in intelligent training just because they're afraid of looking retarded if they threw together a bunch of bullshit and DNF'd over and over.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

"UnScared" is a term coined by CrossFit Endurance to describe the art of dealing with fear.

We say that CrossFitters are UnScared because CrossFitters know the pain that they will endure during their workouts and continue to come back and overcome that pain 3-6 days a week. CrossFitters all have fear, but they don't let that fear affect them. They (you) are UnScared!

All others who choose to not CrossFit are Scared.
Apparently, they aren't unscared to learn the difference between affect and effect.

Wait, what? #-o Now they got to make up words too?

I'm kind of amazed by what Big Mac n' Cheese has achieved though. Do you remember the Nike commercial in which Michael Jordan explains how often he has missed, how many games he has lost,... the message was that even superstars fail and only hard training and dedication make you succeed.

Big Mac on the other hand doesn't train a whole lot, his dedication stops after a measly 15 miles and he basically lives off being a complete failure. You got to respect a guy making a living on being an underachieving loser.

crossfit comes to east texas

Post by SAR »

one of the local gyms is a crossfit center now. One of my physician friends who's otherwise sane is trying to sell me on it. He's already had several injuries that I'm aware of. Anyway he told me there's this guy there who can DL 400! While that's a good deadlift, I don't think these guys here (or elsewhere) are aware of the weights some folks could move. Ah well. I'm most surprised at how enamored with the whole thing he is. I had to move along when he told me he was going to get crossfit certifiied so he could learn the olympic lifts better....

You can't blame CrossFit for being new or "scary".

I'm not talking about CrossFit, I'm talking about better a...t anything and everything.

I would say that in 10 years most elite athletes will be doing CrossFit

This just keeps getting better. Every time I reach some state of peace, something happens that makes me want to smash every one of these assholes. These assholes are "unscared" because they "know the pain they will endure during their workouts..." And I'm scared because I'd rather fight an angry 245 pound man than do handstand pushups...

Yeah, way to gut out those 800m runs and double unders, cocksucker. How about lacing up the gloves or buckling the chinstrap? How about walking onto the mat? How about being the jumper in a line-out? Dammit.

THIS is un-fucking-scared:

Nonsense, in six months of CrossFit they could be doing so much better. That guy could be catching that ball with his feet facing backward. Think about the possibilities. He's just scared. There are no excuses.

Pitcher Houston Astros
Sorry there Mr. Unscared, but the 26 games out of the bullpen in Low A Ball is NOT the Houston Astros.

When I was maybe 12 or 13, we used to get people to do really stupid shit by saying they were scared to do it.

I am pretty impressed that these fucks can make a whole business out of the same kid trick.

CrossFit Sport Fit wrote:so who was I drafted by? Think it was the Houston Astros? Yep the Houston Astros and yes I was born in Alameda and my career was cut short due to injury (sucks). I think you have shown yourself.

It is amazing how hard people work to dis...proove things or to make large accomplishments seem so small. What sucks for them is when in the end they are wrong after making such a huge deal about it.

Thomas I think you need to go climb back in whatever hole you came out of.
Sorry, you were drafted by the Houston Astros, you never pitched for them.

That reminds me, wasn't there a big deal made about the Marlins doing @F for strength and conditioning?

How is their season going? I bet they are leading the league and injury free now that their team is full of real "elite" athletes doing "elite" strength and conditioning...

I watched some sports science show where they took some South Hemisphere national side rugby player, a big name, and ran him through a series of tests and timed him.

Then they put him on a bike in a sauna suit and sweat out something like 7-10 pounds of water and made him run it again. In every event that fucker did better dehydrated and after an hour long bike ride.

That shit isn't right. Professional rugby players don't look all that strong when you see their gym numbers, because people in the US don't understand that they are highly conditioned for sprint/interval/contact as well.

Sport Fit Cross Fit? Double LULZ. One for me. One for T200. Baseball's like golf. It's a game, not a sport.
