I winced uncomfortably when Dave Castro, at the "Roundtable" of elite athletes referred to the "40 douche bags" that comment on the site and criticize form. That, my friends, is the harbinger of the screw-you attitude that seems to pervade from HQ on down, especially in regard to the games site being so buggy. It began with a lot of the concern being voiced on the old games site - every time someone logged in and made a comment about "information being released in a trickle" or "HQ obviously knows where the regionals will be held", the counter attack from HQ was pretty swift and defensive. A lot of the comments were steeped in genuine concern - how the judging would be fair, how video taping would allow for accuracy in judging, and so on. Those who wrote anything other than "Awesome work guys! Can't wait for the games!" were made to feel like they were being unreasonable in voicing their concerns. By HQ, and even by other athletes.

This year, with 16 weeks until the Games, Graham has created a plan that incorporates nutrition, strength, skill, mobility, long and slow distance work and what Brandon calls “athleticism” work. As the Games get closer, Graham will replace more of his strength work with WODs, and start to replace his long slow distance work with interval training.

According to Brandon, Graham is “already so good at CrossFit WODs that he really has to step back and hammer specific weaknesses and attack them to get better.” This is the function of his off-season training. His goal is to shore up weak points and build a base of fitness that he will build on top of in his higher intensity training leading up into the Games.
