I'm bettin there's a couple in that group above that wouldn't take Jack up on his swimming challenge. And a couple more that would drowned for sure if they could make it to the water without tripping and getting hurt first :finga:

he'd have to bow out in the first hundred or so meters due to the critical failure of his waterwings.

Bony and Pudding are taking the stupidity of "Hero" workouts to a whole other level:
Sunday 110612

"Small"

Three rounds for time of:
Row 1000 meters
50 Burpees
50 Box jumps, 24" box
Run 800 meters

Kristan Clever 39:31, Eric Miller 41:43, Rebecca Voigt 44:19, Pam Eamranond 49:45, Katie Hogan 51:29.
When the best folks are over 40-50 minutes, the rest of the sheep are probably double that.

Boggles the mind, it does.

Quack has an extremely limited understanding of metabolic energy pathways. Modal domains must be trained across broad and varying times to most optimally express and subsequently alter a trainee's hormonal mileu.

My bad. I sure hope the local personal trainer school that wants me to teach realizes my lack of knowledge before I taint their students' raw minds.

Shit. HQ is falling over themselves figuring out how to screw Kristan out of a win this year. She kills the long ones; she kills the short ones. Say what you want, the chick gets it done.

She's the fucking Terminator, or the real-life version of Francine Fransky from the kid's cartoon Arthur: the hyperathletic kid who always gets picked first for every team.

I think the only thing that will keep her out of the Games finals is if HQ pulls a Tonya Harding on her.

I wonder if the child workers in the [Reebok] sweatshops where this new gear is being made know about CrossfitKids. Maybe they could bang out a few WODs in the dark between their 15 hour shifts...

Damn:
As for "Reebok-wear", let it come. And if they're apparell heads are looking for general community feedback on where to start, I'd welcome the opportunity to give some input on ladies' sportbras. Nike and Champion are kicking Reebok's butt in this area, designing for women who've sacrificed any sort of breasts for broader lats and pecs.

Do they make these in ELEEEET tactical versions for the buff chix that only need to cover their headlights?

I mean, if there's no breasts, what's the point of a sportsbra anyway? Let their buff chesticles do the job!

Oh, I dunno
At the end of the day, why would Greg Glassman do something (e.g. partner with Reebok) that he thought was not in the best interest of his passion and own creation, Crossfit?

Reebok symbolizes progress; a natural evolution of CF that will make us far more than we could have become on our own, if managed with the integrity Glassman promises.
Integrity and Glassman in the same sentence- the very definition of oxymoron. Let alone the promises part. Couch's promises are as solid as the Greek economy

Spot-on other than this...these are actually damn tasty and a great way to drink too much without getting a hangover. Sugary drinks kill me the next day...drinking good liquor like this doesn't. It's also far closer to a real Mexican drink, so it's really more like a "real margarita" than a "Norcal margarita".

pretty sure the fuckery going on with the judging is all just about conditioning the koolaid kids to accept whoever hq wants to put on the podium. kinda like the tsa is getting us ready for the fema camps.

Agreed. That sugary sour mix shit doesn't belong in a margarita.

Exactly... so why make up a name for it. Just say "Tequila with a half lime squeezed in" to avoid the sour mix shit.

This just in: @Fit is too eleeeet for your stinkin' permits!

http://crossfitoakland.com/archives/201 ... nouncement
Late this afternoon, CrossFit Oakland was informed that we can no longer operate at our new location due to unforeseen permit issues. This means no clients can enter the building for any reason, including using the restrooms.

The city has agreed to let us hold workouts outdoors until we can resolve these issues or find another location. We plan to continue with the same programming, but hold the workouts in the parking lot until we can come up with a better solution.

Obviously, this is a very disappointing setback and we regret that we must inconvenience our clients in such a manner. We apologize profusely and thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility. We will keep you informed as we progress.

Lets do farmer carries from the new CFO parking lot to the dumb asses office building in Emeryville that inforces this crap. Then we will play loud rap music, take our shirts off, and make sweat angels post WOD on the front steps of city hall. They have no idea that if they f*@# with my CFO experience I will bring this fight to there door step. Keep us informed because I know we are all willing to help with whatever needs to be done to keep our place of health and happiness open.

The one fight you are guaranteed to lose is to take on local zoning authorities. Everyone's all libertarian until they can't find and on-street parking space...then shit gets real.

Hell, they're collecting a buck fifty per head, infecting them with disease, blowing their kidneys out, and making them weaker. That's pretty sharp.

Damn:

Reminds me of this Doc I watched a few years ago about the Mardi Gras beads and how they were made by farm girls in China relocated to a factory and living in dormatories. When they camera guy told the Chinese girls that girls in the US show their tits for these beads and that people paid more money for a bag of beads then they made in a month you could see a few reactions from these girls.1)question and express total disbelief 2)smile and giggle 3)seeing hope leave their bodies as they realize the life of despair that they will live in a shithole Chinese factory.
