Peaking is difficult, sometimes seemingly impossible, however, the alternative to preparation is losing.

Bmack talking about peaking and periodization???
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
Holy shit man. Tell that to the tens of thousands of real athletes who use principles of periodization to properly peak. Jesus christ I hate him with a passion. I honestly want to fight him.

Having consistent excellent performances, like the triathlete in his article did, DOESN'T MEAN HE DIDN'T PEAK FOR EVERY RACE. JFC, what an idiot.
If "training through" events helped people win, doesn't he think that people would have figured that out long ago? Hell, even Broz changes things up the week or two before a big meet!
As was said before, BMac's performances when it counts show the validity of his approaches (which seem to be counter the norm just to fit in the @F way).

Just when I think he might have wised up and let his devotees do the talking for him while using idiot circular logic to justify their arguments, D-Mac-NF comes out of the woodwork and pukes out another nugget of idiocy. All he needs is to be loaded up with bottles and bottles of gin, get a bloat-gut, and he can replace Couch.

mayor mccheez has nearly perfected the art of being a complete idiot and decreasing the performance of his clients while increasing his own buzz and celebrity. when he finally stops working out entirely and starts permanently injuring his runners, he'll be ready for the throne.
have you ever been as far as even considered go want to do look more like?

Re: The couch thread
@Fers...you should know more about your new @FJ author...from his own site bio:
http://www.anthonyroberts.info/about-anthony-roberts/

Seriously, if it were fiction it couldn't be set up any better for a massive implosion than by bringing a "steroid guru" into the @FHQ fold at this point. Is Anthony getting a free flight to the Gaymes in order to help all the @FHQ favorites?

Uh...a bit different bio was posted with the article:About Anthony Roberts
Anthony Roberts has been researching anabolic steroids for over a decade and is the author of “Anabolic Steroids: Ultimate Research Guide,” addition to the ebook “Beyond Steroids,” and is the co-author of the book “Jekyll to Hyde: Physique Transformation from Both sides of the Force.” His latest book, Generation S, is in the final stages of publishing and will be released shortly by ECW Press.
Anthony holds a degree from Seton Hall University in English, another degree in Philosophy, and is a current member in good standing of MENSA.
As a competitive martial artist he won a silver medal in the state martial arts tournament in the black belt division. As a competitive rugby player he has played club level in the first division of the North Harbour province of New Zealand, as well as having won multiple first division championships at the club level in the United States, a second division collegiate championship, and played in the Collegiate National All Star Games for two years. In his three years as head rugby coach for Kings Point USMMA, the team accomplished three straight undefeated regular seasons, and won two first division championships. He holds a USARFU level one coaching certification, is a professional member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and holds an additional Level 1 Instructor certification.
His steroid articles have been featured on iSteroids, Steroid.com, EliteFitness, MesoRx, T-Nation, Mind&Muscle, and many other sites. Anthony has designed and developed 4 nutritional supplements, 1 of which became a #1 best seller for Protein Factory. As a trainer and consultant he has helped athletes at all levels of competition, including Professional Bodybuilders, MMA competitors, and Powerlifters.
Anthony keeps active in the print world, and has been writing a column for the South African based bodybuilding magazine, Muscle Evolution, for the past several years, focusing on anabolic steroids and other related performance enhancing drugs.
His comments and steroid expertise regularly find their way into the print media for such publications as The NY Times, The NY Daily News, and many others, including online outlets such as SportsIllustrated.com and ESPN.com. As an expert in the field, he has given talks to academic organizations such as the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
Anthony currently lives in New Jersey and is married with one child.
LOFL! Hiding much from your readers?!?! This same picture was posted in the @FJ article, except for the fact that the STEROID.COM wording on his jacket arm just happened to be trimmed off:Anthony Roberts is a @F Level trainer and holds a @F Endurance certificate. He is also a USARFU Level 1 Coach.

Seriously, if it were fiction it couldn't be set up any better for a massive implosion than by bringing a "steroid guru" into the @FHQ fold at this point. Is Anthony getting a free flight to the Gaymes in order to help all the @FHQ favorites?

Yeah, AR's big area of expertise is drug use and speculation on drug use.
On legal HRT IIRC.
Former T-mag steroid guy-fell out with them for assorted reasons. He just doesn't get along well with anyone who actually knows stuff, so him and Bmac are like the perfect match.

Re: The couch thread
The amusing thing is AR's reception by the hard-core, long-term AAS users - he's pretty much dismissed as a complete twat. How fitting that's he shows up as cutting-edge material for CrossPuke.

Re: The couch thread
As drug gurus go, he's a b-lister, plus he's had all those problems with "employers".
I think he's perfect for @F, though, because he's not too big, or muscular, and he 'played rugby'.
I do like his reporting of steroid busts and the way he outed that even bigger douchbag Darren Mead on Progenex. Saying that, I think that's probably the intersection of Bmac and AR (the progenex derision)

On a related note, tomorrow's Wednesday Warmup on Team Gorilla is going to feature a fundamental subject that I think we can all get behind. Stay tuned.

So far, the buzz from the community on the various new Crossfit Reebok products and prototypes that have debuted have ranged from mild enthusiasm to downright hostility. Is it time to start a pool on when Reebok pulls the plug? Will it be immediately after the '11 games or will they give it another couple of quarters?

I think the real test will be whether Reebok pays the winners or not.

Reebok would make a killing scaling down an Adidas OL shoe for Crossfitters to buy economically. Say, $75?
