I'd rather see 5 muscle ups and 405x10 deads...265 is a joke deadlift for me and i'm weak as piss. I did catch some video od 1st day and it is all skinny dudes and thick girls. Spealler has a tramp stamp and Cleaver has a penis. CF hates her and she won't lose

That would only lead to more claims of how badass they are.
I am willing to grant them that, if that's what it takes.

an actual comment:
After watching event 1 I think that our collective crossfit focus has shifted too much towards strength and neglected aerobic and endurance training. Almost all of the top performers that we have enjoyed watching over the last few years have added significant muscle mass since 2009, but I think event 1 showed that there is a price to be paid for that extra size. The athletes this year are unbelievably strong, and their work capacity is off the chart, but can we honestly call ourselves the fittest on earth when a one mile run reduces us to walking? Or the fastest athlete took almost 10 minutes to cover the distance? Would an outsider watching event 1 have agreed that these are the fittest on the planet? I have nothing but respect for these athletes, and I'm really enjoying the games, but just curious if anyone else thinks that our programming has overemphasized strength training to the neglect of aerobic conditioning.

Apparently, it's unbelievably strong.

I wonder what that makes some of us...

For the eleet firebreather it is.

I've seen the local fucks do shitty cleans with 155, slam the bar down, and walk off like they did something impressive.

Whoa now. I have breathed fire for pocket change in a past life and I can still hit the mid 300's for 10. Let's not lump all the fags in one bundle.

In all reality, the comments coming from the Gaymes is like a text-based train wreck of epic proportions.

I'm just enough of an egomaniac to actually believe that.

Isn't working out on a stationary bike something that is endlessly made fun by @fitters ?
They should have put little TV sets in front of each bike and given the exercisers headphones.

RT @RugbyStrength: Crossfit boxes will soon have swimming pools and stationary bikes. If only other gyms were this elite. #wsoe

July 28:

The X-Games may make the most noise. But on Monday morning, we have a feeling that more people are going to wake up talking about the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games. They'll talk about its week of amazing events, the level of athleticism of its feature athletes, the mach speed of its growth, and the deafening noise that a five year old sport made during the weekend of one of ESPN's most marketed sports. Games on.

Finally caught up on this exploding thread since Friday and I am sooooooooo glad I did. I was hoping for more @Fit drownings. I call bullshit on the "jellyfish" for Mikko. Orlando felt like he was drowning because he WAS drowning, that fucking dumb ass. That, plus the softball shit...Reebok has to be looking at this whole deal thinking, "What the fuck did we get ourselves into with this Glassman guy?"
