Your favorite podcasts

Post by Soupbone »

I walk in the morning and have been listening to the radio function of my ipod. Been listening to some good talk shows and podcasts. What are your favorites? I always like training topics, but any topic will do.

Thanks!

Yup.

I would give a strong recommendation to Penn's Sunday School. Even if you're lacking the libertarian bent he's told some stories that had me laughing so hard I could barely breathe.

If you like sports, then ESPNs podcenter: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/

and Grantland's Podcasts: http://www.grantland.com/podcasts.... are both good.

If you like news type stuff, check out the podcasts from BBC and Al Jazeera (not kidding)-- much better for international news and perspectives than anything in the US. I've been meaning to check some of the stuff from the Economist and the Financial Times, but haven't gotten around to it.

Good and brave call on Al Jazeera. Their coverage is actually pretty good.

I have become pretty disappointing with the quality of the news on BBC's website but haven't checked out their podcasts.

BBC's Shakespeare's Restless World

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/sh ... ess-world/

There are only about 20 episodes, and each is approximately 12 minutes.

Stay the fuck away from the Jim Florentine podcast. It's nothing but fucking misery. What a miserable unfunny cocksucker.

I'm enjoying Joe Rogan's stuff. Nothing too heavy, but enjoyable.

I wouldn't recccommend the Paracast unless someone was really into hardcore old school UFOlogy. I think Steinberg is creeepy. A fun, agendaless, general interest paranormal podcast (with terrific sound): Mysterious Universe.

I'll check out Mysterious Universe, thanks. I've been searching for a decent paranormal show since Art Bell retired (again) from C2C.

Endurance Planet was my favorite podcast until Kevin Patrick went out the door. If they have older episodes archived from beyond a year or so back, they would be worth a listen.

WSJ This Morning isn't bad for a news programme. The same could be said for Economist and Al Jazeera are similar.

Dan Benjamin's 5x5 Network is fantastic - Back to Work, Hypercritical, The Incomparable and MacPower Users are all on my regular rotation.

The BS Report is the best that I have found for sports.

Adam Carolla makes me laugh more than that time I went camping with Proto.

Good call on stitcher. It makes slapping the cheerios out of Sam's mouth much easier. Thanks.
