Lennox, a boxer breed, was plagued with cancer and arthritis, and he had survived multiple surgeries, but a recent tumor growth on his left shoulder made it difficult for him to even stand. Lennox's owner decided that the humane thing to do would be to put Lennox to sleep to end his suffering. His roommate, "Nikolaoss" on Reddit, explained the situation in a post on the site. He included a twist to the story: Lennox would be given an incredible last meal, consisting of a turkey leg, sausage, bacon, and rice. There's even a video of Lennox eating his last meal. Lennox goes for the bacon first.

I did something similar for my Bernese. She had cancer through her stomach and wouldn't eat kibble towards the end (we didn't know that it, in fact, was cancer until the very very end). I made her some eggs and topped it off with pumpkin puree, her favorite.

We did a similar thing for Remmy before we put her to sleep (because of cancer). Stuff like this video makes me fucking bawl my eyes out. I miss that dog.

I got to second 5. Lost my soul mate boxer, Hemi, in August and miss him almost daily.

Shot my cat in the head. She was seventeen and dying of kidney failure. Laying on the floor foaming at the mouth, not responding.

You can sight a firearm through the tears. Its not easy to do but doing nothing is beyond awful.

Really rough. I'm going to go hang out with my 16 and a half year old dog for a while now.

I thank God every day when I come home and Begonia is smiling at me and barking and wagging her tail. I wouldnt trade it for anything in the world.

Also, for what it's worth, I'm glad to know all you guys (electronically though it may be), it's good to know people who care for, and respect the lives of their dogs, and who appreciate how dogs can enrich their lives.

I dreamt I was walki ng down a road with three dogs, and then I realized these were the dogs whom I had loved and who had passed on, except one. I came around the corner, and far up ahead, I saw another man and a dog waiting more my by a fence.

I woke up, and knew it was my dad and his favorite dog.
