He should sue the other 200 or so college head coaches who think he's a pathetic little weasel and won't hire him.

Pennsylvania's public employee retirement system says Jerry Sandusky will get to keep more than $900,000 in state pension payments he received after his 1999 retirement from Penn State University.

The agency notified Sandusky he no longer will receive his $59,000 annual pension after his conviction and sentence in the child sexual abuse scandal.

I agree with their suit. Penn State will be paying the NCAA fine with Pennsylvania money, which will go to some sort of abuse prevention grant. It should go to abuse prevention as agreed, but stay in the state.

Joe Paterno led the Penn State Nittany Lions for 46 seasons and -- in the process -- became the winningest coach in college football history.

Then came the child molestation scandal involving his former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky and allegations that Paterno played a role in concealing it.

The NCAA vacated 111 of his wins over a 14-year period, fined the school $60 million, reduced scholarships and banned it from bowl games for four years.

Paterno died last year, his iconic reputation in tatters.

But his relatives filed a lawsuit Thursday to see that his legacy doesn't end that way.

The lawsuit -- filed by the Paterno family, several members of the Penn State Board of Trustees, faculty, former players and coaches -- takes to task the NCAA and a report by former FBI director Louis Freeh, whom the sports body hired to conduct an independent investigation of Penn State's handling of the scandal.

"The report on which the NCAA relied for its actions is fundamentally wrong, incomplete and inaccurate," a release from the parties filing the lawsuit said. "The consent decree with Penn State was hastily imposed on the University, completely disregarding the rights of the affected parties."

Former Penn State president Graham Spanier has asked a county judge to throw out charges accusing him of helping cover up sexual abuse allegations against former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

Spanier's lawyers filed the motion last week, citing his allegation that the university's former top lawyer, Cynthia Baldwin, violated attorney-client confidentiality when she gave prosecutors information about him. He also argued that some of the charges were filed after the statute of limitations had run out.

His attorney, Elizabeth Ainslie, said Wednesday the criminal case remains on hold while Spanier's co-defendants, Tim Curley and Gary Schultz, ask the state Supreme Court to review a recent decision by the grand jury judge that he did not have jurisdiction to throw out their charges.

In PSU circles each side, the JoeBots and the Joe haters, are arguing it vindicates their view.

Governor Tom Corbett, who as the state attorney general opened the grand jury investigation that led to Sandusky being charged this month, said more victims tend to reveal themselves in cases like this as word gets out.

"The attorney general made a decision ... that he is a witness to the case he made, that he met the minimum obligation in reporting it up, but did not in my opinion meet a moral obligation that all of us would have," Corbett said of McQueary on NBC's "Meet the Press."

The NCAA said Tuesday that it will reduce the unprecedented sanctions against Penn State's football program by gradually restoring scholarships starting next season. Officials did not rule out future modifications, such as reducing the four-year postseason ban.

The announcement comes 14 months after NCAA president Mark Emmert levied the historic penalties in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. Penn State had faced a cap of 65 scholarships starting in 2014, but instead will have 75 scholarships in 2014, 80 in 2015 and the full allotment of 85 in 2016.

Yep, it's a continual battle.

My opinion is who gives a crap about the past victories. It's just a number in a list. If the Sandusky thing had become public in 2001, we'd have a different past from what we have now. And there's cognitive dissonance in arguing that the NCAA is a worthless pile of crap whose opinion doesn't matter, but then fighting for the NCAA's validation by wanting them to change the numbers back in their record books.

Paying out nearly $1m for every point that tOSU hung on them last weekend.
