Re: The couch thread
I hate these people. The answer is scorn and mocking them.
A couple of weeks ago I was in line at Starbucks with my old ranger Buddy Anthony. Anthony hates @fitters more than most since he lives next to one. So there we are, sitting in line and this @fit faggot would not shut the fuck up about @fit. The faggot was talking up the semi-hot barrista trying to covert her to the cause. The douchebag was done with his order, but decided he was more important than the 15 or so people queued up in line. No one else was ordering coffee until the douchebag was done talking about his cult. My buddy and I were 3 or 4 people back, when Anthony busts out with "Hey crossfit fag, either move along or your next WOD will be me kicking the shit out of your candy ass". The @fit fag has this startled look on his face and blurts back "Yeah, you and what Army" That's when I volunteered that I'd be more than willing to help administer beating. Plus, get this; right after I got done saying this, the local HS football coach steps out of line behind us and says "And I'll help them."

Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.

Most of them suffer from the Dunning-Kruger effect. They believe themselves to be extremely competent because their ignorance leaves them unable to properly judge whether or not they are incompetent. The smart ones figure it out and begin to learn. The dumb ones continue to spread the virus.
I was in a "box" not too long ago coaching lifters and watched a large group being lead through a ridiculous workout with horrible form and I watched the "coaches" walking around preening themselves and not offering one bit of correction. Cause they don't know what they are doing. They are the equivalent of an art teacher teaching kindergartners to draw a dog by making some blobby thing with four legs and a tail. Looks like what kindergartners should be drawing so no one cares. But, he thinks he should be teaching college students and doesn't understand that blobby things with a tail are not what college students need to be drawing.

I've watched two classes at two different boxes in Texas. In one I was stunned and the shitty quality of movement and coaching, at the other, it was ok. In both cases the instructors had a USAW certification as well as a L2 CF certification.
Neither held a candle to how my buddy in Michigan coaches his place.

I'm pretty sure that story had a different ending when the other guy retold it on the @fit Forumz.

Did you get the tall, non-fat latte with caramel drizzle or your usual grande, iced, sugar-free vanilla latte with soy milk?Batboy2/75 wrote:I hate these people. The answer is scorn and mocking them.

You need to stop living vicariously through people you meet on the internet. Your mom is paying good money for you to see a therapist about this. The least you can do is try to follow the therapists advise.

"Think you know the athletes and teams of the NPFL? Here’s your chance to prove it. Accurately predict the first round of the 2014 NPFL draft and we’ll give you four GRID-side seats to any match of your choice in the NPFL’s inaugural season (including any playoff match).
You’ve watched the videos, you’ve followed the action from the combines, and you know all the early signings. Now it’s time to predict the teams’ first draft choices."
Fantasy draft for x-fit? It's not often one can watch a professional sports league fail before it starts!

Jim Rome is having his smack off show today and everyone is going after "crossfit guy". Good stuff.
Re: The couch thread
It's been years since I've listened to the Jim Rome show. Used to love it. I don't know how long these are available, but I'll check this show out as I have time (Smack Off 20): http://jimrome.com/audio/the-jim-rome-show/Jonny Canuck wrote:Jim Rome is having his smack off show today and everyone is going after "crossfit guy". What I know of you, you could easily. Children are less forgiving and much more vocal dogs, they reflect what you project. And I will say- if the The Future Mrs. Herr Doctor said "I'm pregnant," I wouldn't be freaked out or anything, I'd probably be pretty happy about it.
