Tyrant

Post by Fuzzy Dunlop »

New show on FX, Tuesdays I think.

About the return to Oman (?) of an American man who ran away from his royal family when he was young. He returns for a wedding and ends up being obligated to stay. His father is quite the dictator and his brother is a raping, murdering little bitch.

The pilot was good. Wishing it was HBO so we could see some T&A.

T&A would be mild compared to some of the stuff that was "implied" on that show. Looking forward to tomorrow's episode.

Wikipedia says it's the fictional country of "Abbudin". Using an actual country would probably be a party foul.

I actually thought the pilot kind of sucked.

His brother was very Uday Hussein in a predictable way. He's got the dark, secret (from his wife and kids, at least) past that'll start to come out, his son's a probable gay in a country that probably takes issue with that sort of thing...

I'll watch it again tonight, but I didn't think it was anything to write home about.

Okay, I'm fairly sure this show sucks nuts.

The only reason to watch is because his fucked up brother's wife is a total smoke show.

It's a compelling sort of idea, but it's just full of weaknesses through the first two episodes. Hoping it gets better.

BTW, the brother's wife is an Israeli and the brother is an Christian Israeli Arab. The lead's an Englishman, I think.

Yep, the lead was going to be in a reboot of the Saint, as Simon Templer.

The show is made in Israel.

Show's not really great. I'm still going to watch for the wife and daughter (Don't worry, she's 20. I checked IMDB)

this show has been relegated to background noise while I surf the web. It's better than channel surfing for other crap TV that I'm not gonna pay much attention to but that's about it.
