MyRadar is a weather app. Not sure about the forecasts but there are a variety of layers, including aviation layers, that you can turn on to see things like wind patterns. Can set it to specific places or just move it to view a variety of locations.

Google Photos is the best new app/service I started using this year.

storm for weather is decent.
Using whatsapp a bit
Nothing really though. I think I'm getting ready to move to an android tablet for my tablet needs, since my iPad is getting a bit long in the tooth
I have yet to mind a decent newsreader type app..I don't mind clipboard but I'd prefer something that I can manage on a PC,

OverDrive. Works with many libraries for free downloads/temporary free rentals of books and audio books. Free Kindle
