Re: Presidential Debates
Preconceptions will be reinforced.
I think Clinton can survive a mediocre debate but Trump needs to be almost error free while simultaneously exciting.

Trump will win if it is entirely on Twitter.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.
Re: Presidential Debates
I wouldn't be surprised if Hillary pulls out of one or more of the debates. I don't think she can go that long without having an "episode". She will have already received the exact questions in advance though.

Hillary comes out in oversized prosthetic hands, Trump has an aneurysm
Re: Presidential Debates
I think either one has a chance for a breakthrough with undecided voters. Hillary, by simulating openness & honesty. Trump, by acting presidential.DrDonkeyLove wrote:Preconceptions will be reinforced.
Odds are that neither can accomplish the above. Hillary, because she's doesn't trust herself. Trump, because his most presidential moments have been on the teleprompter.

Re: Presidential Debates
are there really any undecided voters at this point?johno wrote:I think either one has a chance for a breakthrough with undecided voters.DrDonkeyLove wrote:Preconceptions will be reinforced.
they'd have to be cave dwellers, with no communication with the outside world. seriously, you don't have enough info to decide?
fact is, information is irrelevant. 95% of the voters are basing their votes 95% on emotion. that's what the science says.

Re: Presidential Debates
FWIW, old hand Pat Buchanan predicts success for Trump because expectations for him are so low. That rang true to me - perhaps there are a number of undecideds that just want to know that Trump can act like an adult. And that it would be his mode of operation as President.

Do you think the voting public actually has a say in this?

Re: Presidential Debates
I think Trump's attention span is too low for a 90 minute debate. He'll wander off into some dark wood and implode.

Re: Presidential Debates
True. And I don't know if Hillary can go 90 minutes without calling for some women and children to get their legs blown off in some Middle East country that didn't attack us.seeahill wrote:I think Trump's attention span is too low for a 90 minute debate. Re: Presidential Debates
1. Gary Johnson and Jill Stein get shutout.
2. Hillary wears her blue shades to deflect glare from Lester Holt's giant forehead.
3. Herv already mentioned that Hillary already has the questions ahead of time. I have rather low expectations for both candidates and the moderator will be fed questions by his handlers to stir shit and jack up ratings.

Meanwhile, Hillary has invited Mark Cuban who will be sitting in the front row. Barbra Streisand(pronounced with an S) will sing People at the intermission.DrDonkeyLove wrote:Mad genius.dead man walking wrote:donald is keeping it classy:

Why isn't Hillary's emotional and personal destruction of Bill's women part of this campaign?dead man walking wrote:donald is keeping it classy:

This just in: The Mitt Romney era of just letting opponents and the Candy Crowley's of the world dictate terms and truth in a debate is over.dead man walking wrote:donald is keeping it classy:

The debate could go either way. Hilliary has the most to lose. If she has an incident then things get crazy.
