Iron Fist
Watched the first episode. Seems like a DC show you'd see on the WB with better production values and writing. Moving really slow but watchable (think a more watchable version of Arrow without all the teenage angst). Villains? Not a good start so far. Finn Jones is good as Danny Rand/Iron Fist. Good enough for people excited about the series to keep watching, but not as bad as the last half of Luke Cage.

Re: Iron Fist
Pretty badly reviewed and the first couple episodes were super poor. His getting kept in the hospital was dependent on making constantly stupid decisions. Dude's the Jar Jar Binks of MCU.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.
Re: Iron Fist
Spells is right about the main character being an idiot, but I'm still curious to see if the show goes anywhere.
I congratulate Turd on writing the first review of the show to not use the term "cultural appropriation". Apparently, if you hear "kung fu master" and don't immediately think, "must be an Asian guy", you're now a racist.

Re: Iron Fist
I'm three episodes in and kind of disagree (can't be sure). So far, it seems that the series would be better served moving about 50% faster but the pace is still sufferable. The series is introducing more complexity into the villains, which is good. Fist has been a dope of a character, but it seems like he might be growing into something more. For a series with a lead character with a martial arts background there's surprisingly little martial arts.Grandpa's Spells wrote:Pretty badly reviewed and the first couple episodes were super poor. As far as I can tell, the Netflix series' start to get insufferable the more they tilt to female character dominance. They're good when they maintain balance. This series is not maintaining balance and, unlike Luke Cage where Alfre Woodard was insanely good and everyone else had to keep up, none of the women here are that great. Still watchable though.

Re: Iron Fist
So far least favorite of the 4 series. Will probably watch every episode.
