I was super bummed when I woke up to the news. Huge Cars fan, but never got the chance to see them.
I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.

First music I ever bought was the single for Shake It Up. I still hear their music most days (really enjoying Spotify). The Cars were a great band and Ric was a great songwriter/member of the band.

Yeah, if you can remember the late 70s or very early 80s, they are indelibly imprinted on that era.

Yeah, that's a real fucking bummer. I wasn't as upset as when Tom Petty died, but I really dig the Cars.

I saw them live in concert right after Panorama was released.

The little guy, keyboardist, came out and got all of his synthesizers making weird noises, basically the intro to "Candy-O". I remember him fiddling with the knobs and levers for like two minutes, then turning and facing the crowd and giving a Spock sign from Star Trek. Crazy cheering, then the band came out and launched into the song. Great concert!
