Northeastern University has dismissed 11 first-year students after they were caught violating social distancing rules, the school announced Friday, the latest and most aggressive attempt to prevent the pandemic from disrupting plans to return to Boston’s campuses this fall.
The students were caught at the Westin Hotel, which is being used as a temporary dormitory this semester, on Wednesday night without masks and not social distancing, according to university spokeswoman Renata Nyul.
The dismissed students will not be allowed to take courses from home this semester but will be permitted to return in the spring, Nyul said. They were part of a special one-semester program for freshmen that was prepaid and cost $36,500. That money will not be refunded.
The University System is a net negative for society at this point.
It exists to pay useless administrators. And undermine the culture.
It's inimical to the public interest on almost every level.
Henry VIII time. Take their fucking money and redistribute it.

or just dont go there or send your kids there...
The universities have enormous influence. Do I have to list the ways? To say the above is unthinking at best.
you've found a viable alternative... propose revolutionary action (presumably, or are you just a crybaby?) on a message board with next to zero traffic.

Burning down universities and redistributing their endowments is revolutionary. I am indeed stupid, but you are also stupid.
I went to college but I came out with an engineering degree. They didn't make us take any marxist courses unless you count statistics.
The Department of Education has informed Princeton University that it is under investigation following the school president's declaration that racism was "embedded" in the institution.
President Christopher L. Eisgruber published an open letter earlier this month claiming that "[r]acism and the damage it does to people of color persist at Princeton" and that "racist assumptions" are "embedded in structures of the University itself."
