Probably my favorite book. I'm reading The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton and The Gunsliger by Stephen King.

CSA gym in Dublin. It's about 35 minutes outside of SF in the east bay. Jesse Burdick runs the powerlifting there. Really nice gym and everything you need.

I'm with you. The lead character was such an uninteresting douche his journey didn't matter to me at all. Add to that the fact that I felt like I needed a shower afterwards.

Re: The end of football?

My interest in football has definitely declined over the past 4-5 years and alot of it has to do with the feeling that the concussion issue gives me as I watch the games. The sport simply cannot continue to evolve the way it's going. The players are simply too big. At some point either some sort of ...

Re: I'm Getting Rid Of My iPhone

Got the Galaxy S4 when I ruined by old phone and needed one that day for a trip. I was in a Verizon store and had done no research. I just asked the clerks which phone they wanted. S4 all around. It's great. Get the Swift Keyboard. Much faster than the Samsung one and way better at autocorrect. I'm...

Re: Mariano Rivera. Kneel Before Zod.

Agreed. I'm not a Yankee fan, but he was something special. When you think about how long he pitched and how ridiculous his numbers still are it's mind-boggling. Also, the list of great relievers who had big blow-ups in the post-season and were never the same is pretty long. He just brushed off The ...

Re: Dexter's Final Season

Any chance it ends with a good episode? Even in it's worst seasons they've usually ended with something exciting. I just want it to feel like there's actually something at stake.

Here's the deal with gluten.

Gluten is mostly prevalent in crappy processed foods.
People stop eating crappy processed foods and they feel better.

It's a gluten free miracle!

Re: Let's Remember 9/11

I was listening to Howard Stern in San Francisco so I was getting the news 3 hours behind as I was getting ready for work becuase he was on tape delay. He mentioned something about something happening at the World Trade Center so I turned on the news. Everything had already happened by then. It was ...

I like bootstrapping stories. His advice about cars is unbelievably bad, which makes me suspect it's all pretty terrible. From what I recall, he has people drive beaters until they have paid off consumer debt. That's good advice. I would qualify that with, "Buy beaters with decent ratings from...

Re: Dave Ramsey

I often listen to this guy's radio show. I'm not particularly following his saving & investing plan, but it's inspiring to hear testimonials from people who work themselves out of the debt, on ordinary incomes, in this slow economy. I like bootstrapping stories. His advice about cars is unbelie...

Wow. This season is a disaster. How can they end a show about a serial killer this badly? There are 10 different ways they could have hit this one out of the park and they went this way with it.

I listened to the Total Money Makeover audio book and liked it alot. We're following it to get out of a little debt although we're not going the full on selling a bunch of stuff route. It seems really good, simple and logical. I haven't listened to his radio show, though.

Very good. Cate Blanchett is outstanding along with Alec Baldwin and whoever plays her sister. Nice performance by Dice Clay, also. You've got to give it to Woody. Making movies for 40+ years, still turning out about 1 a year and still making them smart, vital, emotional and thoughtful. He really is...

Re: Dexter's Final Season

So far, this has been an exceptionally unexciting season. Especially when you consider that there's only 5 episodes left. Other than Jennifer Carpenter and Charlotte Rampling everyone, including Michael C. Hall seems bored. I hate it when a show with a lengthy history feels the need to "go out ...

Re: Dexter's Final Season

I've watched it since the beginning. It's definitely slipped although last season was a return to form. This season has been solid but it's really just waiting to see how it ends. In my opinion it has to end in one of three ways: 1. Dexter kills Deb 2. Deb kills Dexter 3. Deb turns Dexter in At it's...
