Re: Pocket Knife Recommendations
I like the mini Griptilian enough that the small risk of losing it doesn't bother me. The Axis locking mechanism is smoother and easier to use than anything else I've tried, and the knife is very comfortable in my hand. If I lost the one I have now, I would order another without hesitation.

I liked it, especially when the Iron Cranium wasn't on the screen. It was as though they were trying to convince the viewer that their Iron Fist series was really a good show about a very stupid character.

Re: Trumpling the Truth
The problem with Lee, Davis and other Confederate statues is not that they celebrate people who owned slaves, as many of our founding fathers did. The problem is that the celebrate people who waged a bloody war against our country in order to preserve slavery. The claim that the statues are simply p...

At this point, you have to expect Trump to fail the American people at every opportunity he has. He does so with such regularity that it's become boring.

I don't know, but one of my friends in government tells me that his agency is already installing a divider in the cafeteria to separate the male and female dining areas.

It's OK to do all those things as long you maintain an appropriate emotional and social distance from the people, like an aristocratic European "explorer".

Re: CA, WA homeless policies
In San Diego with the family for a few days, and I'm semi-surprised to see the nice parks that are filled with homeless campers. Saw the same thing in Seattle and SF. What's the deal? This generally doesn't fly in most other cities I've been, where there's a police-enforced attitude of "We mad...

I'm not saying the doc knew that, but the sense that this was outrageous and unfair lines up pretty neatly with the law. I agree (and have said) that United's actions were outrageous and unfair. All four of the people who were involuntarily bumped from that flight after they boarded were mistreated...

This doctor is clearly a douchebag Not so clear to me. Unless you've never been on or heard about an airplane before, you know that refusing to get off a plane when the crew tells you to is going to cause problems for everyone else on the plane. You also know that the airline isn't going to change ...

Re: The customer is always right
Whether they overbooked or somehow forgot that they needed to move a flight crew, letting the plane board before kicking people off was their biggest mistake. It's less considerate to the people who get kicked off, more likely to invoke protests, and more likely to result in delays for all of the ot...

If people were serious about education reform, we would see an end to teacher tenure and colleges of education would be razed. In a move rarely seen in academia, Wayne State University is trying to fire multiple faculty members depicted as abusing their tenure by doing as little work as possible. h...

The contraception mandate in the ACA has little to do with public health and everything to do with pandering to female voters. The price elasticity of demand for birth control is tiny for all but the poorest women (those on Medicaid).JimZipCode wrote:What, you didn't find my argument persuasive?Turdacious wrote:How so?
