Re: How can I find a good attorney
I'm a mediocre attorney who does contracts. The key with most contract review is that you want to find someone who will give you practical advice and not a legal memorandum. It also matters a lot whether you are looking to find a "good attorney" or "an attorney who will give me the ad...

Re: The couch thread
A month ago a former co-worker while doing @fit apparently slipped from a chin up bar, landed on his head and had to be rushed into surgery for a cerebral hemorrhage, still having some complications but has finally been released from the hospital. I mean, accidents happen with any sport/activity, bu...

Re: Weeds
We enjoy Weeds, but its definitely in a different category from The Wire, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Shield, etc.
Its more of a guilty pleasure like True Blood or Entourage. It's a fun way to waste a half hour, but you won't have died unfulfilled if you miss it.

Although it may not be ideal for the general population it may be perfect the meathead like me who wants to get stronger and move better but can't seem to stick with a template for more than a month or two. Yeah, that's basically where I am. I did the ETK ROP with good success for 3 months, but wan...

531 for Football
This is more passing along another review & writeup of the weightlifting program than anything else, mostly because 531 For Football really is what it should be-- a manual for football coaches, which is something that I am not and really do not have much business commenting upon. But even though...

Re: The couch thread
What's the point of tying KB's to the bar when you could just put on a couple of iron plates next to the bumpers? Maybe my training bumpers are different, but they're a smidge larger than my iron plates so the bumpers would hit first if you're worried about that kind of thing.

Re: The couch thread
There's a pretty entertaining combination of scantilly-clad photos and graphic sextalk on some of the logs of the women who post on t-nation, I'm surprised/disappointed that the highlights haven't found their way over here to save the rest of us from having to sift through the training log bits.

Re: Greg Everett's "Olympic Weightlifting" book
Jim Schmitz and Tommy Kono are two guys with good books that come to mind. But I know there are some more that I thought were good too. Not sure if they still sell it, but the Jim Schmitz video & workbook seem about as no-brainer as you could possibly make learning the olympic lifts without a c...

Re: Art of Strength - Strength in Motion Workbook
I know this is an old thread, but I was surprised/impressed by the ETK Workbook so had been looking around for more info on SIM. I came across a blog post that had one of the routines. Warm-Up: I chose the second drill from the “dynamic flow drill” list, took 4:45 for 2 rounds of: 1. swings – 10 rep...

Frankly, I'm not sure why more people aren't doing one-arm barbell snatches on an indo-board. Seems pretty safe to me, I doubt there's more than a 30% chance per rep of self-decapitation.

Re: The couch thread
Even lean and strong big guys have a lot of trouble doing workouts that include 50 pullups and/or 25 muscle-ups. Pretty much the same reason you don't find that many tall/big male gymnasts.Charismatic megafauna wrote:but seriously, vitamin S rumors aside, why are the men such leetle bitches by comparison?

In addition to working great normally, I thought it was interesting that this morning when I accidentally knocked the Gymboss off my waist taking off the X-Vest and the battery came out, that the Gymboss kept counting regularly for the 5 or so seconds it took me to pick up the battery and re-insert ...
